Hi All-
I have been wondering whether or not there is any way to import citation styles for certain journals. I really like Mendeley and its features, however, I find formatting the citations very frustrating. I feel like the citation style section is very limited. I like how in EndNote you can choose the specific journal you are submitting a manuscript to and the the citation change automatically. I have tried to mess with editing one of the current styles to fit my own, but trying to figure out all the fields I need to change has been a hassle and time consumer. Is there something that I am missing? Does Mendeley have something like EndNote?

Word 2013 (office 365) plugin not installing
Hi Mendely Staff,
I installed yesterday office 365 package for windows using the click-to-run procedure (the only one that seems allowed for my subscription). Afterthat I downloaded the latest version of mendeley desktop and tried to install word plugin, with no success.
The system retrieved a message telling me, in brief, that the 2010 version of word wasn't recognized and that the plugin cannot be installed...
Do you have any trick or suggestion to get rid of the inconvenience?

{Formatting Citation} and {Bibliography}
Dear Support Team,
I am using LibreOffice 4.2.1.1 and Mendeley Desktop 1.11 on a MacOS 10.6.8. The last citation I insterted does appear as {Formatting Citation}. The bibliography also just shows {Bibliography} instead of the list of bibliographical references. I do not get any error messages.
Could you help me?

New google docs add-on feature: maybe now there will be Mendeley add-on?
Now that add-ons are added to google docs, are you planning to make a Mendeley add-on?
The citation manager they have now (EasyBib) is not very useful, and it would be great to be able to use Mendeley straight from google docs. I believe people are crying for this feature for a long time already.

Hi, I have downloaded mendeley to help me with assignments for Uni, I have it on my laptop and the Uni comps but when I try and reference on the Uni comps it comes up
" Active Component can't create object (429) in Mendeley Plugin. For more help, please visit http://support.mendeley.com"

Dear support team,
I have read all possible replies to this problem - the problem that the word plugin from medeley for word 2011 mac isn't working. Everything updated etc. Restarted etc. uninstalled plugin several times and re-installed. The problem remians upon opening word with installed plugin:
"compile error in hidden module"
mac osx 10.9.2 mendeley 1.11 word for mac 2011 14.3.9 (131030)
Please please help, I need to continue working on my stuff.

File Organizer - Rename document files
File names for PDF's etc. are generally too long. Currently, four fields are available: Author, Title, Journal and year. Please add the following fields: "First author" and "Journal abbreviations".
First Author is usually sufficient, and the current "Author" option includes all authors, giving at times extremely long PDF titles.
Journal abbreviations is fully sufficient and can be really short compared to the full Journal title. I know Journal abbreviations is already available for BibTeX export, but additional support for document renaming would be great.
Other than this, I must thank you very much for a fantastic article organizer. I hope these suggestions will be implemented as I can then fully appreciate the automatic file renaming option.

I need to transfer from Papers on a Mac to Mendeley on a Windows 8 computer. What is the best way to do this? I have almost 3000 papers stored, so I have a fairly large database.

I am having trouble viewing articles in BMJ. I am with Cardiff UNiversity
How do I gain access to BMJ articles through my affiliated university? I do have a username and password.
I cannot sync my Mendeley articles between my two laptop computers.

"Save to Mendeley" only works when I choose "View in Mendeley Desktop"
Hi,
Every time I use my "Save to Mendeley" bookmarklet, I get the nice green check mark and it says "Saved." However, if I go to my desktop client, it's no there, at all. I found a work-around: if I save it via the bookmarklet, and THEN select "View in Mendeley Desktop," it will work, but this is ridiculous. Isn't the whole point to add tags and save and not have to go into the desktop application every time?
Happens for every single source, whether it's a web page or a PDF or an abstract on Scopus, etc....

Editing a thesis citation in CSL editor
I believe there is a bug in the MS Word plugin. I am citing a Thesis and neither the type nor the department show up in the bibliography.
I am trying to use the CSL editor to insert these into the bibliography, but the fields between Mendeley and the Editor are not as it should be in the following link:

What fields in the CSL editor correspond to Department and type.

problems in syncing
Dear all,
I use Mendeley on two different computers, but synchronization does not appear to work very well.
If I change a reference (for example a paper that used to be forthcoming and now is published), then sync and then open the other computer and also sync, it will still display as forthocming.
Furthermore, The syncing of pdfs seems completely random. Finaly a paper that I put in a category in one computer (say "my pubblications") does not show there in the other.
Ideally, I'd like to have the two mendeley versions on the two computer to be identical to each other (including annotations on pdfs, and the like). Is there a way for me to do so?

unable to download pdf file
Hi!
I’ve made today the upgrade to Mendeley 1.11. I started a search in mendeley literature search only for open access documents. When I try to download the pdf file I get the message “there was a problem downloading this file”. If I open the connection settings and whether if I chose no proxy, HTTP proxy or SOCHS 5 proxy I get the same answer “Mendeley was unable to connect using these settings”. What shall I do?

Is it yet possible to sort on tags?
My references all have an unique tag that I sometimes would like to sort on.

Note-taking finger-trouble undo no present......
I have just taken notes on a journal article in the Notes section on Mendeley desktop. The notes were quite detailed and I then went to copy and paste those notes into my word processor. I inadvertently 'pasted' instead of 'copying' and managed to overwrite all the notes I had painstakingly taken.
I went to 'Edit/Undo' and that has no effect. Is there any way to get my notes back from my own error, please? If not - for the future, is it possible to make 'undo' work in these circumstances? This is a lot of work I have just managed to delete and cannot recover.......

open office plug in has vanished

invalid procedure call or argument (5) in mendeley plug-in word 2003
Every time I open a Word Doc, since I installed the word plug in form Mendeley, I get this message:
"invalid procedure call or argument (5) in Mendeley plug-in"
After I click OK, the doc opens and I can work just fine. However, this is pretty annoying. I am using Word 2003. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plug in several times, but it didn't work.
