Hello,
I find it very difficult to edit style I need in my work with Visual CLS Editor. The journal I need to cite (Chemistry in industry/Journal of Chemists and Chemical Engineers) is not in Mendeley usually styles. It cannot the restore the data since 2014.
Recently, I formatted my computer and restored the Mendeley Desktop library using the backup file that I made on March 7th, 2014.
So the whole data in Mendeley Web library were deleted, and new library was restored from backup file.
But, the whole data which have been added after year 2014, were not restored.
What is wrong with the restoring process?
Can you fix and restore the my library which contains the data since 2014?

Mendeley Plug-In won't work

I am using Mac 10.9.2 and have recently updated to the most recent OS which caused problems with word (or so I thought). Word 2011 has since been totally uninstalled and reinstalled. I started working in word, needed to add a citation and realised the plug-in was no longer installed. I installed it, attempted to insert a citation and word started crashing again. I uninstalled the Mendeley plug-in and now I can use word again so there actually appears to be a problem with Mendeley.
Firstly, how do I insert citations into my work without having to use the plug-in - is this possible? I have work that I have to do and I cannot do it without adding in my citations and I really don't have time to faff about (dissertation deadline due!).
Secondly, what could be causing this problem? It appears that word works fine until I try and use the plug-in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this several times with the same effect - it almost appears to render word inoperable as it just keeps crashing.
I believe I am using the most up-to-date version of Mendeley Desktop 1.10.3 but what on earth is going on. Please can you help?

"DOI" can be identified, but not "Digital Object Identifier"
If the doi numbers in pdf are after the characters "DOI", then they can be identified by Mendeley, but if the writer use "Digital Object Identifier" before the numbers, they can't be identified, for example, in this paper:

In the lower left corner, "Digital Object Identifier 10.1109/JSTARS.2011.2181827" can't be identified. Is this a bug?

Could i hide lists of some documents in the all document of my library when i send them to my folders create?

why can not create a new folder in mendeley???
I am working on a 64-bit ubuntu 12.04 OS and can NOT create a new folder in mendeley 1.10.3. All files are stored in the 'My Library' folder, which is not what i want. My intention is to create several folders to manager the files.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Problems with initials - unwanted space, small "a" letter
Dear support team,
I'm currently experiencing a peculiar issue with certain combinations of initial letters in the bibliography. I get an unwanted space, if the second initial is a "V" (e.g. "A V", instead of "AV"; "W V", instead of "WV", "L V" instead "LV", etc.). Furthermore, if one of the initials is an "A" it is written in lower case but only in some combinations (e.g. R a, D a, a M, but MA, TA, EA is fine). I have tried different styles with no effect on this issue.
The author names in the database look fine, e.g.:
Andreeva, Alexandra V
but the output is
"Andreeva A V" instead of "Adreeva AV"
I would really appreaciate if you have any solution or workaround for this.
My specs are:
Mendeley 1.10.3
MS Word 2010
Windows 7

Error 5825
Hello,
This morning I was working at adding citations to my final dissertation when, suddenly, I received the infamous "Error 5825" message. Everything that had been working just fine up until that moment stopped doing so.
Is there any way to fix this?
I am using Mendeley Desktop for Mac v.1.10.3 together with Microsoft Word 2011 14.3.9, on a Late 2008 MBP 15" with Mac OSX 10.9.2 installed.

I do not have Microsoft Word installed on my Mac, just Open Office.
When I click "install MS Word plugin" it says "You do not have MS word installed on this Mac"
How do I install the plugin to my Open Office?

How to move files in separates folders
Hi
I am using Mendeley Desktop for MacOS. I recently import all my references from refworks to Mendeley, but they all are in the All Document folder. I tried to move specific files in a specific folder, but could not.
Can you tell how to move files from a folder to a specific folder?

What is the best way to transfer the library from Refworks into Mendeley with the attachments? Is there an easy way to get all the attachments downloaded and then transfer into Mendeley?

I want to set mendeley to watch a folder. In the 'watch floder' window, I have checked a folder, but the 'Ok' and 'Apply' buttion is not available. could anyone tell me why? Thanks in advance.

Document types
Hi.
I was wondering if it would be possible to extend the types of documents that can be handled by Mendeley?
I'm sitting in a situation where I'm trying to create a .csl file for Southern Forests journal and I'm not able to recreate some of the reference list formats as required by them!
This comes in when you have a paper which was produced as a series (eg ICFR Bulletin Series).
I've contacted the developers of the Visual csl editor and asked if the editor could be expanded to include all document types that Mendeley is able to label, but it would also help if you could consider including "series" as a document type.

Export-Import with pdf links
How can I export my Mendeley library to be imported by a collegue without losing the pdf links? He has tried to copy first the pdf files to his Mendeley desktop folder in My documents (with the option organized my files activated) and after that to import my library but the references are not linked to the pdfs.

Stop opening folder after dragging a document into it to sort
I am nearly sure that previous versions didn't do this, but now when I am sorting newly added documents into respective folders, after dragging the entry, mendeley automatically opens that folder. This becomes annoying when I am organizing a bunch of items at once, and I don't want to have to go back to the "all documents" or "recently added" after I drag each one into a folder. Thanks, this is version 1.10.3 for Mac!
