Yesterday I updated office 2013 to service pack 1, but now I'm not able to insert citation anymore. The 'insert citation'-button is simply gone but the addon is still visible.
Screenshot:

Pressing the other buttons does nothing and the styles-dropdown is empty.
I've tried reinstalling the plugin and reinstalling Mendeley Desktop, but nothing brought it back.
Reinstalling office or removing the service pack is something I'd like to avoid doing.

Bibliography without spacing between entries
Hi,
When i insert my bibliography/reference list i get an enter/return between each citation entry. I want the whole bibliography to be compact and not this long because of al the useless spacing. Is there an option/style that i can select that it doesnt put that much spacing between each entry of the bibliograph.
thanks!

Ubuntu sotware center
I really enjoy Mendely desktop application for Linux. Why don't you also add Mendely on the Ubuntu software center? I think that would be great and a lot of users would install your software thanks to the software center visibility (I discover Mendely on a forum).

Free disk space largely was reduced after I set "watched folders"
Hello, I am just starting to use Mendeley.
Before intalling Mendeley I alreandy had a large number of pdf files organized in a "biblio" folder with several sub-folders.
I installed Mendeley and set "watch folder" to watch a few subfolders. After I did that, and after the task bar indicated "100% complete", I looked at my HD disk space and it showed a reduction of about 5GB.
If I set mendeley to watch all my biblio folders I'll run out of disk space.
Does Mendeley create a copy of the files somewhere in the hard disk? WHere (I could not find them)?
Would you have any suggestion on how to avoid this loss of space in the HD?
Thanks a lot,
Fernando

even if I setted username and password correctly.
Any suggestions?

How to upgrade my personal account now that I am enrolled into an university that uses institutional
Hi, I created my free profile a couple of year ago:
http://www.mendeley.com/profiles/david-mourino/
But now I enrolled into an university that uses premium institutional services from you, and I was asked to creat a new account with my university email:
davidmourino@uoc.edu
I haven't created this new account yet, because I' would like to know if I can keep my previous account and get the institutional benefits while I am studying here.
How can I upgrade my previous account or "merge" both accounts??
Thank you in advance,
David

Need help to slightly modify an existing reference pattern
Hi everyone, I am a new user of Mendeley and so far i am loving it. I need some help about a reference style. I am now using a reference style for the journal applied clay science. But this style does not have everything that i require.
1. In a sentence currently all the reference in a group are arranged alphabetically but i need to arrange them year wise. For example..
Other worker have shown similar results (Abdolali et al., 2014; Reddy and Behera, 2006; Wang et al., 2008; Xu et al., 2012)should rearrange as
Other worker have shown similar results (Reddy and Behera, 2006; Wang et al., 2008; Xu et al., 2012; Abdolali et al., 2014).
2. (Wang et al., 2008) showed that... should rearrange as Wang et al. (2008)showed that..
Can this be done? Otherwise can some one link an appropriate citation style for my specific need or is there some help forum where i can get help?
With regards
Gautam

Metadata mapping to documents not included in "document type" drop down
Hi. I am working with various international agencies who publish resolutions from meetings. The metadata of these documents is not mapped according any of the document type formats. Can I edit the mapping so MENDELEY recognizes the document types? As an example, a typical document format might like the following.
United Nations A/66/7/Add.1
General Assembly
Distr.: General
21 November 2011
Original: English
Sixty-sixth session Agenda items 134 and 146
Proposed programme budget for the biennium 2012-2013
Administrative and budgetary aspects
of the financing of United Nations peacekeeping operations
Information and communications technology
Can you help?
Best,
Mike Huestis

Stop syncing
When I travel I have a slower and limited bandwidth connection. If Mendeley syncs, it uses up bandwidth, takes forever to sync and blocks everything else. Is it possible to put Mendeley on "work offline mode"?

TI - An Alternative Synthetic Approach for Efficient Catalytic Conversion of Syngas to
Ethanol.
AB - Conspectus Ethanol is an attractive end product and a versatile feedstock because
a widespread market exists for its commercial use as a fuel additive or a
potential substitute for gasoline. Currently, ethanol is produced primarily by
fermentation of biomass-derived sugars, particularly those containing six
carbons, but coproducts 5-carbon sugars and lignin remain unusable. Another major
process for commercial production of ethanol is hydration of ethylene over solid
acidic catalysts, yet not sustainable considering the depletion of fossil fuels.
Catalytic conversion of synthetic gas (CO + H2) could produce ethanol in large
quantities. However, the direct catalytic conversion of synthetic gas to ethanol
remains challenging, and no commercial process exists as of today although the
research has been ongoing for the past 90 years, since such the process suffers
from low yield and poor selectivity due to slow kinetics of the initial C-C bond
formation and fast chain growth of the C2 intermediates. This Account describes
recent developments in an alternative approach for the synthesis of ethanol via
synthetic gas. This process is an integrated technology consisting of the
coupling of CO with methanol to form dimethyl oxalate and the subsequent
hydrogenation to yield ethanol. The byproduct of the second step (methanol) can
be separated and used in circulation as the feedstock for the coupling step. The
coupling reaction of carbon monoxide for producing dimethyl oxalate takes place
under moderate reaction conditions with high selectivity ( approximately 95%),
which ideally leads to a self-closing, nonwaste, catalytic cycling process. This
Account also summarizes the progress on the development of copper-based catalysts
for the hydrogenation reaction with remarkable efficiencies and stability. The
unique lamellar structure and the cooperative effect between surface Cu0 and Cu+
species are responsible for the activity of the catalyst with high yield of
ethanol ( approximately 91%). The understanding of nature of valence states of Cu
could also guide the rational design of Cu-based catalysts for other similar
reactions, particularly for hydrogenation catalytic systems. In addition, by
regulating the reaction condition and the surface structure of the catalysts, the
products in the hydrogenation steps, such as ethanol, methyl glycolate, and
ethylene glycol, could be tuned efficiently. This synthetic approach enables a
more sustainable ethanol, methyl glycolate, and ethylene glycol synthesis in
industry and greatly reduces the dependence on petroleum resources and the
emission of the greenhouse gas.

reference detection
Hello,
Some of the reference's articles I want to import from the web are needed to be entered manually. Though the article is detected, the bibliography metadata are not.
Another detail, I'd like to put 'et al' in italic in my citation, and I didn't find the option neither in the citation style edition or by modifying the code.
I already sent you an email, could you please answer on it ?
Thank you very much in advance !

With Word Plugin, is it possible to programmatically enter data into the "Insert Citation" dialog?
I am using the Mendeley Word plug-in.
I wish to programmatically insert citation keys into the Mendeley "Insert Citation" dialog and programmatically insert full bibliographic citations from Mendeley at the cursor.
I have checked the object library for the Mendeley plugin.
I can invoke the Mendeley "Insert Citation" dialog programmatically by using the mendeley.insertcitation command..
However, I can't work out how to programmatically enter text into the Mendeley "Insert Citation" dialog. The best I can do so far is have the "Insert Citation" dialog popup, then I need to enter the data manually. The macro recorder doesn’t record my keystrokes when I enter the citation info manually.
In theory, this should be simple, as it only requires a VBA reference to the "Insert Citation" dialog and the Text/Input box that accepts the citation information, plus a way of ensuring that the data is submitted to Mendeley.
Is it possible to programmatically enter data into the "Insert Citation" dialog. and submit it? If so what are the relevant object references?
Thank you,
