After using Mendeley on a document, I saved it, but the file was corrupted, returning an unspecified error similar to what is seen in some other threads here on the Mac/Word threads, and in the link below (Line 2, col 33210 in my case) hence posting it separately. Like in the Mac threads, I had deleted references, and had changed the citation format from another format to Nature format.

Second author is being included in "et al." in text citation in APA 6th edition
Hello,
I have an in-text citation where the first two authors are being displayed in the et al. For example a paper by Johnson, Smith, Davis and Jones reads: (Johnson, Smith, et al., 2006).
This appears to be the only citation in my paper behaving this way. I have deleted the reference in Mendeley and the paper and re-added in both. However, the same thing happens.
The following question was helpful (http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/915467-editing-the-number-of-authors-inline) but I cannot seem to get past this troubled link.

Problem with two sets of references
Hi, in Word document, I found 2 sets of references. One from my library and another from a shared library that I'am the owner.
The problem that appear is that some references is duplicated in the bibliography. There is a tip or a function to change fix this problem ? Can I merge the two sets of references in only one ?

Separation of library
Hi,
I just find out that my copy of Mendeley (Version 1.10.3) works a little bit strange. It keeps my files in two places: 1st is defined folder for "my papers library" (where I want to keep all my pdfs) and 2nd is in /home/.local/.../MendeleyDesktop/Downloaded folder.
I would like to keep all my files in one folder as it is easy to find some paper to print in one folder than in several.
Is there any way to move files from location #2 to location #1 inside Mendeley, or I need to do this manually. I tried synchronized library, but the files are not moving.

I have been charged recently for another year subscription by auto-renewal. I expected an email before this charge was placed but it must be your practice to send this notification after a charge has been made.

data not coming over
When I use "Save to mendeley" in Mendeley desktop, the article data does not all copy in. Sometimes just the article title copies but not the author or the date. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

How to move the data directory?
Since there is no portable version of Mendeley, I thought I could simply use it on many machines by installing it in my dropbox folder. I have all my articles and watched folder in DB as well. However, Mendeley insists on placing its data directory in my Apps folder (I'm using Win8), so the data doesn't get shared over dropbox, which means that when I try to use it on other computers, Mendeley is a tabula rasa and starts downloading my database again, despite the fact that all the articles in it are in the same DB folder. So, is there any way to move the data directory folders from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mendeley Ltd.\Mendeley Desktop to a folder of my choice, one I could place in Dropbox?

I am using the BMJ style but its not actually the BMJ style after all. I've been able to edit some bits of it but I need to change the formatting of the journal edition from bold to normal and can't figure out how to do it. Please help!

I am using mendeley for weeks. but today when I was working on a new paper and I wanted to insert a citation, this error happens.
I searched on this topic on the support page and I found the instruction that you gave. But that didn't work.
the document that you have mentioned is "Mendeley-1.10.3.dot" for me (I don't know why !!!) and when I opened it and want to insert a citation the very same error occurs and there is no debug button.
I uninstalled the word plugin and install it again but there is no change.
please help me as soon as possible since I want to submit this paper tonight

Limit of 4000 documents
I'm part of a private group that recently got 4,000 documents. The owner of the group told me that few days ago he saw that instead of reading "1 of 4,017 documents selected" there appear "1 of 17 documents selected". Although in the "Documents" tab, there are for sure more than 17 documents (actually, it seems there are all there), the bottom line of the screen doesn't say "4,017".
I check the group in my Mendeley desktop and when I select all documents available in the group, it says "4000 of 4017 documents selected". Why is that? Is there any limit at 4000? Could you internally check this group and see the real number of it? because now I'm not sure whether I can see this last 17 and the future entries.

Mendeley is not organizing documents into the indicated folder
Dear Mendeley Support Team,
I have configured Mendeley to organize my files into an folder (D:\Mendeley\) other than the standard Downloads folder.
However, Mendeley is not moving existing nor downloading new files into this new custom folder, but rather continues to use the old standard location (C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local\Mendeley Ltd\Mendeley Desktop\Downloaded)
I already tried to reset Mendeley, to de- and then reinstall Mendeley, to delete everything and then sync it back... to no avail.
Is there any quick & dirty solution to this?

"Unable to search" error message
Mendeley Desktop has been working smoothly for several days now, both at home and at work. However, just tonight on my home computer I have started to have a problem with the search function. When I pull down a search field such as "author:" I get a yellow bar with the error message, "Unable to search for "author:" in [whatever folder I'm searching]. A "Repair" button is made available, but clicking it does nothing.
Weird thing is that if I type my search term anyway, the search actually works, i.e. it will retrieve articles by that author. However, I'm worried because it seems from the Mendeley forum that this error has knocked out search capability for some people and I'm fearing the worst is yet to come. By the way, I tried removing the files in the www.mendeley.com subfolder, but it didn't work.

SSRN - download pdf
Hi,
I tried "Save to Mendeley" button from SSRN site. It imports but does not import PDF. Why is it so? Can I fix it (I do see a checkmark and it is checked automatically). Why papers come in without pdf? SSRn has all pdf for sure.
Also, is it possible to imports references/citations from SSRN as separate entries?

I have now logged on in England and my on line library is empty. I thought the whole idea was that the account followed me?

Mac OSX 10.7.5 Word 14.3.9 No toolbar and scripts error
Hello,
After updating Word to latest available version I still could not get Mendeley plugin to work. The toolbar is still missing. I tried moving folders and many other things found in different posts and after last Word update, finally scripts appeared at the applescript menu. But they give this error:

ImportError: dlopen(/Applications/Mendeley Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/appscript/aem/ae.so, 2): no suitable image found. Did find:
/Applications/Mendeley Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/appscript/aem/ae.so: no matching architecture in universal wrapper"
I then followed this post: http://feedback.mendeley.com/forums/4941-general/suggestions/2249304-mac-64bit-lion-office-2008
If I change applescripts to include 'arch -i386' as suggested, the script does nothing! If I don't modify the script but change python version I get a similar error as before:
"[...] /Applications/Mendeley Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/appscript/aem/ae.so: no appropriate 64-bit architecture (see man python for running in 32-bit mode)"
The toolbar that should appear under View/Toolbars is still missing.
Any help is really welcome!

Bibtex Sync
Hi,
I have here a problem with the bibtex sync:
The file links in the bib file don't show correct characters when there are names with special characters. see example here:

This indipendent if there option "Escape Latex Special Characters..." or not.
This is a problem when using other programs which use the bibtex file because the links then get broken.
