full text pdf download in a private group

I am trying to access pdfs uploaded into a private group. Is there a batch process that would allow me to download them all so that I don't have to click on each individual entry to do so? (one at a time works, so there is no problem with access or sharing). I also see them already in my Mendeley desktop file directory, but they are just not showing up as downloaded. Thank you

I am trying to export from Scopus to Mendeley so that I can share literature searches and results with my colleague. however, I have yet to succeed. i am signed into Mendeley and scopus, but just keep getting the above error. (I can export to RefWorks which is also available.) What is the issue? Question 2: (if problem 1 is resolved) Also, since the point of this is to be able to create a joint folder that all of us can both access and add documents to, is this possible in Mendeley? Thank you very much for your help.

Document icon rather than pdf icon

Most of my files in Mendeley Desktop have an Adobe Acrobat icon next to them. However, several files have a different icon, some sort of generic document icon (two overlapping pages with dog-eared upper right-hand corners). These files are certainly pdf files and open just fine in Adobe Acrobat. What does the generic icon mean? Thanks, Mark

Create new document without import

Is there any way to create a new document in Mendeley Desktop with out importing a PDF? Because I have it automatically sync to a .bib file, when I need a reference to book or other item for which I have no PDF, I enter it into Mendeley. On the website I can create any new arbitrary item, but it seems I can't do this in the Desktop, which is where I'd prefer to be able to do it, rather than opening up a browser window.

Bug

Dear developers, first thing, despite the problems mendeley has (at least for me with a huge library), it seems to me the best we have now. Then I wanted to make you know of a bug which in my case is always reproducible. It happens when I open a single page landscape pdf page. The result is that Mendeley simply stop working and I have to shut it down. You can imagine how annoying this can be while I am correcting the entries of the library that have not been correctly parse by Mendeley and having to start again once mendeley gto blocked. cheers

remove added reference and adapt numbering - unite citations between brackets

I try to remove a citation from the text and from the bibliography! I looked with Alt F9 as mentioned in another answer to this problem. With alt F9, the citation is not present in the text anymore, but after the refresh button, still appears in the bibliography list. If I remove the citatin in the bibliography it appears again after pushing the refresh button. And how van I merge citations between brackets which are inserted separatly? without deleting and adding again thanks Hadewych

Automatic truncation of filenames

In one of the recent updates, Mendeley File Organizer/rename function started automatically truncating what it perceives as "long" file names. Can you please add an option to configure, or turn off this limit, which is currently too restrictive? My filenames are organized as Author - Year - Journal - Title, and for some journals, the whole article title is missing...

Duplicate papers without sync or dropbox

Hi everyone, I have a number of papers (several!) that appear as duplicates in my library. They indeed are duplicates: if I go checking their containing folder, they are right the same file. I mean: I have just one file named, let's article, PAPER_A in folder 1, and I found 2 PAPER_A in my library. Sometimes, I even find it three times, one being a "missing file" (that is, whit the chain icon). In Mendeley, they are just identical: same author names, same data, same everything. I don't sync my library online, I just use Mendeley on desktop and I don't have Dropbox. I have many papers that have links: I may have PAPER_A in folder 1, and then a link to PAPER_A in folder 2. I bet that is not the reason I am having this problem. How can I resolve it? Thanks

Microsoft Word plug-in errors on Mac

Hi there, I am using Mendeley Desktop 1.10.3 on Mac OS X 10.9.1 with Microsoft Word 14.3.9 (Office for Mac 2011). When I go to install the MS Word plug-in from Mendeley Desktop, I get the following error: Error 1 compiling the Word plugins. Executed: osacompile -o /Users/[user]/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Word Script Menu Items/Mendeley/Show Mendeley Toolbar.scpt -c MNDL -d -t osas . When I continue past the error and open MS Word, the plug-in appears to be installed, but every time I open Word I now get the following error: Mendeley Word Plugin Problem Invalid procedure call or argument ( 5) in MendeleyPlugin. Once I get past this error, the plug-in appears to be working properly. I have already tried deleting the Mendeley folder from the Word Script Menu Items folder. Any other ideas on how I can stop this error message from appearing? Thanks!

MS Word Plugin disappeared

Since one week ago, MS Word plugin just disappeared from Word. I've ininstalled and re-installed it several times, but unsuccessfully. Mendeley says that plugin has been installed, but when I try to add citations the earlier commands don't exist anymore. I had used it before without any problem. Details: OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, 32bit; Mendeley Desktop version is 1.10.3. Thanks.

NIH citation style

I have read the previous posts on this subject. While not being the most technical, I think I understand that Mendeley does NOT have a citation style that matches NIH grant requirements. I believe that Mendeley support recommends MANUALLY adding the PMID to the notes for EACH document–this despite that fact that the document details already include the PMID. Is this correct? Thanks, Gerard

As far as I can remember, I have always had this error when trying to sync my pdfs to the cloud. In the end I just turned it off because I don't really care for that feature. But now I'm trying to move my collection to another computer, and if I understand correctly this is only possible by syncing the pds to the cloud, not by simply copying it over. In short: I am unable to move my collection over...

I keep getting this message Problem formatting citation #162 Problem updating citation: "..." You can fix this citation by removing it and re-inserting it. If the problem persists "..." It's annoying when you have a lot of citations and keep having to re-insert all citations within a table. Please fix

Importing from pubmed using WebImporter

Hi, I'm conducting a systematic review from multiple databases. I'm using webimporter in order to retrieve information concerning my search results. However, the process of finding the articles and then saving to my library is taking too long. One thing I realized that even though i'm not selecting the option to save the pdf's, the program is actually saving them. I believe this is one cause that makes this process so slow. tks, Pedro

Citing a Chapter in an Edited Book

I'm wondering if it is possible to cite various chapters in an edited book. That is, can I use the edited book information (editors, book title, publication info, etc.) as parent information and then add chapter information (author, chapter title, page numbers)? I can't seem to make it work without entering the same information over and over. Thanks!
