When I try to install MS-WORD plugin in MS-WORD2011 for Mac, a dialogue box appears. It says "Unable to install the Microsoft Word Plugin". Its detail is "Error 1 compiling the Word plugins. Executed: osacompile -o /User/xxxx/Library/Applicatio Support/Microsoft/Office/Word Script Menu Items/Mendeley/Show Mendeley Toolbar.scpt -c MNDL -d -t osas". Do you have idea to solve this problem?

Hi I'm using the web importer in Chrome to capture articles like this one http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/17439880903141521 The importer brings down two copies of the abstract! Have searched forums but no answer to this one as far as I can see. Thanks

Hi, after changing my email address in my Mendeley account, I cannot anymore see my pdfs within Mendeley desktop. I can log in regularly, and references are ok. But they are not anymore connected to the pdf files. The "Preferences - File Organizer" panel still point to the correct folder. I am using Mendeley 1.10.3 for Mac (upgraded this morning with no problem). Any suggestion? Thanks, Gabriele

inserting citations

I am experiencing difficulties inserting citations where I have multiple documents from the same authorship and year. For example in 2011, ACME produced two different reports and I need to refer to each separately. Traditionally the year would be annotated as 2011a for one and 2011b for the other, but Mendeley "does not recognise this as a date" and overwrites with n.d. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Hello all. I am using Mendeley to cite references in word documents and have had no major problems. However, the references appear like this in the text: bla bla bla [1],[2] bla bla ... [8]-[10] .... and I would like them to be like: bla bla bla [1,2] bla bla ... [8-10] ... I am using the following reference style: http://csl.mendeley.com/styles/18587981/ieee-2554193 I hope you can hel. Best regards, Margarida Bola

Bug: BibTeX export mixing the order of entries

I would like to revive a topic already mentioned in http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/788918-order-of-entries-in-bibtex-export, but marked as closed. The problem is that Mendeley is mixing the order of the entries in BibTeX file at each export. It is impractical when using a version control system. Mendeley agent's answer was that a ticket had been opened about it, but since then (February 2013), no news... I checked out the newest version (1.10.3) and the bug is persisting.

importing from endnote web

Is it possible to import references from Endnote Web to Mendeley? I have only found mention of this problem, not the solution, on the web. None of the "export" formats from endnote web seem to result in populated references in Mendeley (they appear in Mendeley as a list of references with no fields populated). I would be prepared to go via a third reference managing package if required in order to import into Mendeley, but would like advice on which to use if this is the way to get around the problem.

Keeping Two Desktop Instances in Sync

I have a Linux desktop at work and a Windows laptop at home. I keep all of my PDF files in a directory structure which I rsync between the two machines so that all of the PDFs are in both places and have exactly the same names. However, despite setting the appropriate directory under the "File Organizer" tab of the Tools-Options menu, my laptop cannot find the PDF file for an entry without manually specifying the appropriate PDF file. The database syncs perfectly and I can find my entries with the correct CitationKey, etc. However, I know that the PDF exists in the directory, but only my Linux box (where I generally do initial downloads and create new entries) allows me to click on the PDF icon to pull up a paper. Is there any way to get these two Mendeley Desktop instances in sync with each other without uploading all of my PDFs to the website?

Can't select items using mouse

I've been having this issue with Mendeley on my laptop for about a week now. I can open Mendeley, but I can only click on one item (article, folder, command), then I am unable to switch to or click on something else. I tried reverting to an earlier version (saw this listed as a solution in the forum for someone else with the same issue), but it hasn't helped. This only happens on my laptop, not on my desktop. Help!

Field mapping to CSL

I've been writing a .csl file for my University Library, and have run into some problems when mapping across Mendeley fields to csl type. The document: http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/articles/364144-csl-type-mappin does not seem to match up in the case of Working-papers, and I've had other issues with Reports. There have been discussion about this in the past in the support forums, but I've not seen any recent movement. Is it possible to get an update on this? Widespread adoption of Mendeley at my University (and I'm sure others too) may rest on its ability to handle citations from ANY type of document. - Why offer the 'Working paper' type for instance, if you do not provide full support for it in csl. Any update would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to edit bibliography in word 2011 (mac) manually after removing the add-in plugin?

Hi all, I just started using Mendeley. It looks great. Just migrated from Endnote (4 years), as it started giving me problems. I have a some questions: 1. After I finished with my references in word 2011, is it possible to manually edit the references in word 2011? 2. I have to send my manuscript to my supervisor (not using Mendeley), what will happen to the references in his computer? Will he able to edit my references manually? 3. Finally, while submitting the paper to the Journal, I used to remove field codes in Endnote, which will de-link my references from my Endnote library so that I can edit my references manually. Is there such option in Mendeley? Thank you all, Milan
