I have just experience this problem with mendeleydesktop 1.10.1 in a Linux x86_64 computer.
The first time I expeperinced the error the terminal output was:

Then I re-run mendeleydesktop, the application asked me if I would like to repair the database, I choose 'yes' but the repair was not successful. This is the output of this second run:

mendeley tool bar does not appear on the word 2003
Hi,
I ve just registered with Mendeley, although I clicked in Mendeley toolbar and apparently the MS word plugin was installed, I cannot find any relevant Mendely toolbar when I open the Word 2003. I would appreciate your help, many thanks

How many weeks does it take before new papers are visible online and for everyone?
Currently, I am already waiting almost one month.
Thanks in advance for a reply and for solving this problem.
In the past, PDF's were visible immediately after I had uploaded them through the desktop application. Lateron, this was totally impossible (for over one and a half years). Some time ago, it was told to me that it will cost around one week before the PDF's are visible.

Importing from a Shared Document Folder on SharePoint
I'm new to Mendeley. I've been able to import from my local system. However, I have most of my journal articles within a shared document folder on a SharePoint. I'm able to access the shared document folder via browse, I'm able to select the document, and I'm able to select import.
In fact the bottom status bar states " 1 file successfully imported". However that and any files imported from the shared document folder on SharePoint do not show up in My Library.
Can you advise why this is the case? I'm hoping to not have to download to local system and then upload to Mendeley.

Mendeley hangs up on startup
Reinstalling and Resetting Mendeley Desktop did not work.
Mendeley must be hanging up because of the "Watched Folder" function. When I reopen (after forcing the program to close) Mendeley by hitting the recover button and it shuts off the Watched Folder function the program works.
I have also moved my thousands of files from Google Drive to a unsynced Desktop folder hoping this would solve the problem, yet, Mendeley still hangs up. I'm guessing I will just need to somehow manually add PDFs to Mendeley.

I am using the Advanced Functional Materials citation style. Right now it only shows the first page number. The guidelines require that the range be indicated. e.g. 183-196. How do I do that?

Unable to install the Microsoft Word Plugin
Good Day
I have Mendeley Destop, Version 1.10.1 for Mac. I can't link with my Microsoft Word (after updated Version 14.3.9 (131030) 3 weeks ago, with the my Mendeley. After several time reinstalling, same error appear, "Unable to install the Microsoft Word Plugin, Error 1 compiling the Word plugins.
Executed: osacompile -o /Users/owner/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Word Script Menu Items/Mendeley/Show Mendeley Toolbar.scpt -c MNDL -d -t osas".
Anybody can help me? or suggest to use or modify something? Really need the solution. Thanks.

Section as a variable

I'm trying to customize a csl file and can't figure out the mapping for the "Sections" variable. I've tried the following:

section-number
sections-number
All my other variables are working.

Cannot start my library
After upgrade my Mendeley software, the error shows "Mendeley was not able to upgrade your database format to the current version. A temporary empty database has been created instead. Any changes made will not be saved. Your existing data has been left intact."

bibliography: year suffix in brackets together with the year
Hello,
in my bibliography I use an APA-like citation style. I'd like to have the year suffix in the bibliography in the brackets with the year (e.g. (2001a) etc.) But till now its (2001)a, (2001)b, etc. Could you tell me how I can change this?

plug in error 75 on Mac 10.6 using Mendeley 1.10 version
Hello Mendeley support,
I need you help please with getting Mendeley working on my Mac.
have mac 10.6, world 2011 and I try using Mendeley 1.10.1.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to be able to use Mendeley as I get error 75 (plugin)
every time I try to insert a citation. unistalling/reinstalling the plug
in did not solve the issue.
I was in touch with one of your agents, but then after sending some test results I did not get any reply back.
Can you please advise on how to solve it?

References all randomly changed in word document?
Hi,
I have been happily using Mendeley for a few months. This weekend have been working on same word document, however, realised that the references were in fact wrong. It appeared that Mendeley had randomly reassigned incorrect references to my work. I do not understand how this has happened and it has made me concerned regards the overall reliability of this software.
The only thing I am aware of that may have upset it, was that a piece of text that was supported using a different reference software manager was inserted into my word document. However, I did not have any of the associated pdf files and as such, do not really see how this should have interfered with my own work.
Any help would be good to understand what went wrong. I do not have time to second check all my references!

instable citations
I am working with mendeley from three different computers, two linux-machines (mint) and one windows pc. I am working on a rather large document - 120 pages - and my data base has around 3000 entries. when editing my document - in libre office - i found that the location of citations is rather instable. when moving paragraphs around, it messed up all my citations in the text. luckily i had an older version saved, so i could fix it. but it keeps happening....
any advise?
last week, i sent this to mendeley directly, got a reply asking about my system, but nothing since...

Remove from Collection command is unavailable in File menu when any paper is selected
Hello,
I would like to remove a paper from a collection but not from my library. I see the command for this under the File menu, but it is unavailable so I cannot choose it.-- even when I have a file selected in the collection. It is also unavailable from a right-click.
I am on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8.5.

Unable to rename files
I am unable to rename the *.pdf's of my papers. I select all the files in my folder, and then I right click and rename the file with author and year and title. On the right hand side screen for the paper details, it renames the *.pdf under "file". However, when I access the file via windows explorer and go into the directory where the files are they *.pdf is not officially renamed.
I am running the most updated version of Mendeley desktop using Windows 8.1.

retrieving article from the web
My Mendeley account is used for my research lab. I have Mendeley desktop installed on all our lab computers, however, there seems to be some issues with retrieving all the articles through the web and having them all sync. How can I fix this problem so all my articles are available?
