Hyperlinking documents
I've seen a previous post from Decemeber 2012, that at that time, it was not yet possible to create hyperlinks between documents. Has this been implemented yet? I am running version 1.9.2 on SUSE and cannot seem to find the function ...
Thx!

search by title
For some reason, my 'Search by title' has been replaced with a greyed-out 'Search' box, so that my only option is to click 'Details are correct' if/when I mark an article as 'needs review'.
I currently have Mendeley install 1.9.2 and appear to have a valid internet connection (no warnings on running program, account syncs with web account.)
Any idea why this might be? The closest Q/A I could find was from someone who solved it by changing their proxy settings, but that doesn't appear to be the problem for me.
Thanks!

Exporting Library to Bib file
While exporting library to a bibtex database, some of the journal articles come with a month field but others don't, even though I am unable to find any difference in the corresponding entries in the mendeleydesktop. For example, consider the following two entries.
@article{Sharif2005,
author = {Sharif, Masoud and Hassibi, Babak},
file = {:home/swagato/.local/share/data/Mendeley Ltd./Mendeley Desktop/Downloaded/Sharif, Hassibi - 2005 - On the capacity of MIMO broadcast channels with partial side information.pdf:pdf},
journal = {IEEE Transactions on Information Theory},
number = {2},
pages = {506--522},
title = {{On the Capacity of MIMO Broadcast Channels with Partial Side Information}},
url = {http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpls/abs_all.jsp?arnumber=1386524},
volume = {51},
year = {2005}
}
@article{Zhang2008,
author = {Zhang, Zhen},
doi = {10.1109/TIT.2007.909139},
file = {:home/swagato/.local/share/data/Mendeley Ltd./Mendeley Desktop/Downloaded/Zhang - 2008 - Linear Network Error Correction Codes in Packet Networks(2).pdf:pdf},
issn = {0018-9448},
journal = {IEEE Transactions on Information Theory},
month = jan,
number = {1},
pages = {209--218},
title = {{Linear Network Error Correction Codes in Packet Networks}},
url = {http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/lpdocs/epic03/wrapper.htm?arnumber=4418509},
volume = {54},
year = {2008}
}
The mendeley entry for the second article doesn't contain 'jan' anywhere, yet it shows up somehow. Moreover, it's not regular as seen in the first example. The fields available for a journal article (in mendeley) are-Title, Author, Journal, Volume, Issue, Pages, Abstract, Tags, Keywords, Citation key, Publisher, and URL.

Mendeley Word Plugin Problem. Path not found ( 76) in MendeleyPlugin
Whenever I try to insert a citation in word or any other function from the mendeley plugin (both from the toolbar and from the reference icon in the top menu of word), I get the error message:
Mendeley Word Plugin Problem.
Path not found ( 76) in MendeleyPlugin
I have updated Word to v14.3.6 (should be the latest version)
My Mac is running on Mac OS X v10.6.8
I even tried installing the 1.10 beta version of mendeley to solve this problem. (and of course i restarted the computer, reinstalled the plugin, etc.). Nothing works.
Please let me know what I can do. Thanks in advance!

Mendeley 1.9.2 plugin for LibreOffice (Linux) does not work
Hi,
I have a BodhiLinux machine with LibreOffice 4.0.3.3 and MendelyDesktop 1.9.2.
If I try to install the plugin from Mendeley it seems all ok (I can see the toolbar in Writer) but it does not work!
I read that this topic is very common in Mendeley community but no body write a reliable guide to resolve this problem.
Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance,
Andrea

search documents with NO tags
I have a lot of documents and I want to know what documents are not tagged. Is it possible to do that with the search box?
↧
Clean the tag suggestions
I have a lot of tags that I don't use now, but I used in the past.
When I add a new label, a list of suggestions appears, but it includes the old labels. Is there a way to delete these unused labels from the suggestion list?

CSL issue: Mendeley seems to ignore localization
Hi!
I have rewritten a CSL to use with a Master's Degree at Université Laval, a French-language university in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.
It can be found here:
http://www.zotero.org/styles/universite-laval-departement-dinformation-et-de-communication
In the root element, I have specified the default-locale attribute as fr-CA.
On the webpage of the Zotero Style Repository, when I hover over my style, the pop-up window renders everything as expected.
However, in the Mendeley Desktop app, as well as in LibreOffice, when I ask to format my citations, many elements are still written in English.
I have hard-coded all terms to French in the CSL... But cannot do it for webpage's access dates. They are always rendered with months in English. I have to correct everything by hand in my papers.
Have other users experienced this?
Thanks!

Fields in Conference Entry
This is how the bibtex entry of a conference paper looks like when exported from mendeley.
@inproceedings{Kuhn1951,
address = {Berkeley, California},
author = {Kuhn, Harold William and Tucker, Albert William},
booktitle = {Second Berkeley Symposium on Mathematical Statistics and Probability},
file = {:home/swagato/Desktop/Academics & Related Stuff/Citable References (Mendeley Watched)/Workpc Exclusive/kkt.pdf:pdf},
number = {x},
pages = {481--492},
title = {{Nonlinear Programming}},
url = {http://projecteuclid.org/DPubS?service=UI&version=1.0&verb=Display&handle=euclid.bsmsp/1200500249},
year = {1951}
}
Note the fifth field Number-x. I can't figure out where is that coming from and why does it show up in my final reference list when my latex code is compiled. I have checked all the fields for a conference in mendeleydesktop and still not able to remove it. Help please.

Copied text garbled
Some things have been screwey since I updated to 1.9.2. In particular, some PDFs open with a legible but very strange font (they look fine when opened in Adobe Reader) and copying and pasting text from the body of the document comes out looking like this: "f??????? ?? ??FD IWWSY h?????? ?? ??FD IWWUA ??????? ?????? ??? ?? ?????? ????????? ????? ????? ???????????" It makes it very hard to copy the titles of other papers I want to search for. The garbled copying happens regardless of whether I use CTRL-C, CTRL-X, right click, or use the edit menu, and it is garbled in everything I've tried to copy it into (MSWord, Notepad ++, browsers).
Anyone else seen this problem?

Changes to document details - synchronisation across different computers
Hello.
I use Mendeley desktop for adding citations in Word Mac 2011 on two different devices - a Mac Mini (at home) and a Macbook Pro (at university), running OSX Mountain Lion and Lion respectively.
Is there any way so that when I make changes to a document's details (e.g. a minor correction to author names in a journal paper) to correct a citation, it will remember these changes on both devices so the changes don't revert back to their incorrect forms when I synch citations on another device?
I managed to temporarily fix the issue by locating the folder located in:
Documents / Microsoft User Data / Word Script Menu Items / Mendeley
and copying and replacing the outdated folder with the one stored on the other device, but it's a bit of a pain if I have to copy/replace this folder between devices every time I switch the computer I use.
Thanks for any help.

Old backup
Ho - how do I look at old versions of the sqlite file without overwriting my current database? Somehow, on my computer and restoring the operating system, some of my documents have lost the notes I made on them in Mendeley. I have found previous versions of the sqlite file, which I want to look at, but not overwrite the new database (which is much larger than the older version).
Any advice appreciated.

big CPU load while searching
Hello,
I think it is a bug, not a feature: while searching in mendeley desktop, the app starts to use all of the power of one of my CPU cores until I kill it manually. Sometimes it uses even more CPU power and then comes crash. I am using version 1.9.2 but the previous versions didn't do this.
