Hi, I guess this is a bug report. When I use the "add entry manually" feature and use the arXiv catalog lookup, Mendeley is no longer retrieving the abstract. Other metadata (authors, year, title) appears fine, though it's possible something else is missing (author keywords are hard to check since not all arXiv papers have them, I think). I am using Mendeley Desktop 1.9.2, and this problem started on Mon 5 Aug (possibly just after a software update). I have tried on two different computers both running Ubuntu linux 12.04. Thanks for resolving this!

searching documents in groups
Hello,
How can I search for documents that are organized in groups on the Menedeley desktop? I can't find the documents that are categorized under the groups under "all documents" and therefore waste a lot of time figuring out in which group folder I have placed the document.
Also, when I copy a document into two groups and refer to one of them the reference will contain an 'a' or 'b' meaning that Mendeley seems to treat them as two separate documents (and therefore lists both articles in by reference list). Is there any way to avoid this?
Many thanks,
Karlijn

Bug:
After zooming in once (or more), and zooming out later, the paper could not be displayed as originally. The whole size is a little smaller than the original one before zooming.

Sync of Main Folders does not work?
Hi,
I have a watched folder structure that looks like this:
C:\Articles (this is where the vast majority of my PDF articles are)
C:\Articles\Subfolder 1 (a smaller subset of specialty articles)
C:\Articles\Subfolder 2 (a smaller subset of specialty articles)
C:\Articles\Subfolder 3 (a smaller subset of specialty articles)
C:\Articles\Subfolder 4 (a smaller subset of specialty articles)
C:\Articles\Subfolder 5 (a smaller subset of specialty articles)
There seems to be no way in Mendeley to sync PDFs as attachments for ONLY folders C:\Articles and a selection of subfolders e.g. C:\Articles\Subfolder 1 and C:\Articles\Subfolder 4. In other words, the top folder is excluded if you want to select only some folders for attachment syncs; you MUST select entire library to get the C:\Articles
Am I seeing this correctly? If this is the case, this seems to be a yawning big bug in Mendeley. I really DON'T want to have to include everything, and I don't want to have to create yet another subfolder to place my most-used Articles.
Thanks!
Ron

Unable to open my saved PDF papers
Today when I attempted to open my papers that I saved a while ago, I find that none of them can be opened until I relink the PDF files. The program tells me that "Unable to open this file. If you have a copy of this file on your computer you can import it via File - Add Files". The PDF files are not lost in the Mendeley folder, but they somehow don't show up when I try to open them in Mendeley Desktop.

Is my article in multiple folders? Which?
It's straightforward to drag and drop articles into multiple folders. Once an article is filed away in a few places, however, I can easily lose track which different places I've put it. Is there a simple way to find out which folders a given article is in, or indeed whether it's in multiple folders at all? Thanks for your help!
-Travis
PS - Along those lines.... the drag-and-drop action essentially "copies" the article into a new folder. It would be valuable to be able to simply "move" articles (or multiple articles) into new folders....
Thanks for a great product!

Generated bib file needs to comment the top two lines
At the top of the generated .bib file generated by Mendeley, there are these two lines:
Automatically generated by Mendeley 1.9.2
Any changes to this file will be lost if it is regenerated by Mendeley.
Why are these lines not commented with the % symbol? Anything that isn't a field of an entry in a .bib file should be commented. See the documentation for bibtex [0]. This causes annoying warnings to show up when compiling pdf files that use the Mendeley generated .bib file directly.

Selective synchronize removed local files link
Since I was reaching my limit in web storage, I decided to turn on selective sync and selected all folders that I have. My expectation was that everything but unsorted files would get synchronized with the mendeley web app.
All seemed OK but all my unsorted entries no longer have a reference to the local file.
Is there any possibility to recover these links and maintain them without synchronizing unsorted files to the mendeley web app?
Thank you!

touchscreen in windows 8
Hello, I installed Mendeley on my Thinkpad Tablet 2 (windows 8 pro), but it's frustrating because I can't scroll up and down using the touchscreen. The only option to scroll is to move the scroll bars up and down, which is OK with a mouse, but not so easy with fingers. Is there any way to make Mendeley touch-friendly?! Thanks

double references word plugin
I am working with Mendeley for a while now but lately I am experiencing a problem when I am citing references in word. While citing I frequently have two options of the same reference to choose (while that is actually sometimes one of the annoying things in Mendeley, you cannot add the same pdf twice while it sometimes contains two different articles). Anyway, when I update the bibliography, here it also happens that from some articles there are two references. Does anyone know how this happens and how to get rid of it? It is a bit useless if I still need to check all the references manually.
Also, the title of one of the articles in the bibliography is all written with capitals, while this is not the case in my mendeley desktop. Any thoughts on that?
Thanks for the help!

Line spacing issue with bibliography
I am using the citation style Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/geochimica-et-cosmochimica-acta.csl in my word 2007 document. I need to make the bibliography double spaced but have not been able to do this permanently. It seems the way it is supposed to work is to alter the CSL to read: {bibliography entry-spacing="0" line-spacing="2"}
However, this makes no difference, when adding/taking away from the code either entry spacing or line spacing, or changing the numbers. Also tried adding this as an option, and was unsuccessful.
I know I could just alter the word document to make the bibliography double spaced, but as soon as you update/refresh the bibliography it goes back to the original format.
It seems that there is something over riding the line spacing option in the bibliography but have no idea what it could be. Any suggestions?

Transferring data to another computer
In Mendeley desktop I have linked local pdf files to the Mendeley reference. I have copied the local files to my new computer and want to put Mendeley desktop on it, retaining the links to the local files (they are in the same location on the new computer as they were on the old computer). Is this posible?
