I am running mendeley desktop v1.9.1 and I have three computers synced for my library. I like to keep my files and notes on all machines the same. I am currently having a problem downloading the pdf files that are on the cloud to both my windows 7 machine and ubuntu 12.04 machine. I have the synchronize attached files for all my folders and the files are on the cloud; however, they will not download to either machine. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Hi,
I am working on a PC at work and use a Mac at home.
I would like to be able to access all my pdf library from my PC and Mac.
Synchronization works in terms of pdf 'details' and 'notes' but does not work when it comes to the actual PDF (error message is 'The file did not download correctly'. In fact it worked randomly for 1 doc out of the 5 I uploaded at the office today). Could you let me know what I should do to solve this issue?

Word plug in: The execution of program code is suspended
I'm working in a document edited by a colleague. I keep getting Microsoft Virtual Basic error messages 'The execution of program code is suspended' (translation, my Word 2010 installation is in Dutch. Original 'de uitvoering van programmacode is onderbroken').
How do I fix this? I've already re-installed the Word plug in. I'm using the latest version of Mendeley Desktop (1.9.1).

APA format
How do I create fields in the "details" section to include information about the state of copyright and translators of certain works. Both are required by APA 6th edition, yet these fields do not exist.

Mendeley MS Word Plugin Problem - That property is not available on that project (5891)
I am using:
- MS Office for Mac 2011 Version 14.3.6
- Mendeley Desktop Mac Version 1.9.1
- Mendeley MS Word Plugin (installed via toolbar)
(neither EndNote nor Zotero are installed)
If I want to insert a citation into a new / empty word document, it works just fine.
However, when I want to add a citation to my existing PhD dissertation (which I started some time ago), I always get the following error message:

Problem installing Mendeley Desktop (experienced user)
I'm setting up M Desktop on an older Windows XP machine (Win XP Home 2002 Version, SP3). At the login screen during install, I tried all my emails and PWs but nothing worked, so I clicked on "Forgot PW" and put in my email address. I received the PW reset email with link.
When I click on the link and am brought to M's website, I see an error "You cannot be logged in to request PW reset"
Does this have anything to do with my account being linked to Facebook (at which I use a different email address)? What's strange is that I just setup M on a Win8 machine at home with no problem last week, but now I can't remember if the setup interfaces were different or what.
Please advise an advisor :) Thanks.
I used to do usability research, and I'm a very impatient computer users. I worry that things like this a have a ripple effect on M's reputation. One good start at fixing this is to have more meaningful error messages, such as adding, "This is because...See help documentation here for more information".

Hi, just upgraded to Open Office 4 and the Mendeley-Taskbar simply disappeared. Can't find the plugin neither when I open Mendeley Desktop. Any tips? thanks in advance * best wishes

Hola, despues de instalar el plugin de Mendeley en word, este no se ejecuta correctamente, no aparecen todas las funcionalidades del plugin (no se ve de manera extendida, sino comprimida) y no ejecuta ninguna acción.
Acabo de actualizar Mendeley (1.9.2) y sigue sin funcionar.

Problem after editing citation format
I made a few minor changes to a single citation format and now when I try to insert any citation into MS Word I get a series of characters that cannot be pasted into this question box
All the citation styles seem to have become corrupted. Any suggestions?

pdf links keep breaking
I love the concepts behind Mendeley but I've been struggled for years with disappearing links between Mendeley Desktop and the PDF's on my computer. I recently came back to give Mendeley another shot but this appears to still be broken, and I'm at a loss as to what to do. I have many hundreds of broken connections between my metadata records and my PDF's.
I decided to post about it because I experienced a striking case of this problem over the past week.
(1) I added a document to Mendeley by dragging it in from my computer a few days ago
(2) Today I opened Mendeley to find that no PDF was linked to that metadata record
(3) I manually relinked the article
(4) I clicked "Sync"
(5) The article link disappeared (there was no longer a PDF associated with the metadata)
(6) I tried dragging the article back into Mendeley as was suggested in another post, hoping it would automatically reconnect to the metadata record
(7) A new, duplicate entry was created for the article
(8) Even thought I've spent a lot of time managing my own folder of articles, I tried having Mendely copy all my PDF's and organize them it's own way, but the problem still occurs.
I've got many hundreds of metadata records that have broken links to the PDF files (even though I've NEVER moved or modified the PDF files), and I'm at a loss for how to fix all these broken links and, even more important, how to avoid this problem in the future. All the in-document notes I've made on the PDFs with disappeared links appear to be lost, as far as I can tell.
I'm using OSX 10.8.4 on Mendeley 1.9.1

I had been using Mendeley on Windows, but a new desktop client for mac doesn't work.
Although I've released the proxy setting(which has mentioned in other questions) that problem continues.

mendeley plugin for libreoffice 4.1.0.4?
Today I had a mendeley update from ubuntu repository from 1.9.1 version to 1.9.2.
The mendeley plugin can be installed perfectly on libreoffice 4.1.0.4 (both version).
But, I can't insert a citation using that plugin.
When I click another button, like undo edit, merge citation, or else. It seems work flawlessly. Only the insert button doesn't work.
Can you help me? I'm in the middle of my work and need this function to work.
Can you give a solution regarding this problem to me?

1500+ of my PDFs are missing from both Mendeley Desktop and Web
I am using Mendeley on a new computer and subscribe to a Mendeley file storage account. However, all of the pdfs that are not locally stored on this computer are not available on the Desktop version, even to download. They are also missing as downloads from Mendeley Web. Only files currently locally stored on this new computer are actually downloadable from Mendeley Web.
I managed to locate one file in the Desktop app which had the blue arrow "download" icon available, but using this icon triggered a 404 Network error 'Unknown Error'. This particular file also gives a 404 "not found" error when I attempt to download it from Mendeley Web.
This is really upsetting and unacceptable given that I pay for web storage to be able to access my files anywhere.

Drag and drop no longer working after update
Today I was importing some papers by dragging and dropping the PDF url and/or webpage url into the Mendeley Desktop application. I updated to version 1.9.2 after being prompted to do so in the middle of this and after completing the update, the drag/drop function is no longer working. The status bar on the bottom of the application will do one of two things: either say that it successfully imported 1 of 1 files but then not really have done so, or it will just sit there saying it's importing 1 of 1 files (with the green progress bar fading from left to right) and never succeed or fail at doing so.
Has this issue been encountered before? I use Chrome, but tried with Firefox and had the same issue.
