Hello,
I recently updated my Mendeley desktop version (after a prompt). I am now having serious issues importing bibliographies in the Mac Word. This has never been a problem for me before.
When I attempt to add my bibliography, Word crashes and the following error is produced:
Mendeley Word Mac plugin encountered an error:
ExceptionName: CommandError
ExceptionError: Command failed:
OSERROR: -609
MESSAGE: connection is invalid.
Please help or provide a workaround.
Many thanks,

Probelm exporting journaltype in bibtex
Hi !
I wanted to export several citation (defined in mendeley desktop as a "journal article") in bibtex format to use the bibliography with a latex file.
When exporting, for some reasons I can't explain, some files are defined as "@misc" type rather as "@article" type.
Is it a known problem ? How to fix it ?
Thank you for your help !

Batch update on files location
I've references built up in a folder and would like to add all the pdf files I got. Is it possible to do that in a batch without using Add Files... one by one?
I tried drag and drop but Mendeley Desktop would not reliably match to the correct entry and give duplicate questionable entries.

Is it possible to change the delimiter "and" to something else?
Hi there,
I have made some slight changes to the citation style of "WIRTSCHAFTSINFORMATIK" in order to show the page number in my document. This all worked very fine in the csl visual editor.
Now I am trying to figure out a way to change the delimiter "and" which will be there when I quote a paper of exactly 2 authors (like this: Peter and Miller, 2009, p. 12) I need to change "and" to the German translation "und" but I can not find a way how to do so! The only option I would have is changing it to "&".
Thanks in advance for your help! :-)

Insert Bibliography
I recently started using Mendeley in my word document. I have inserted citations no problem, though in a few cases manually edited the citation to add the page number being referenced, or delete the authors name because it was superflous. When I try to "insert bibliography at the end" i just get the message that citations couldn't be refreshed because the document was altered during the refresh. I'm not touching the document while it is processing the "insert bibliography" request so I'm not really sure what to do. (note I not getting an "incomplete" bibliography... I'm getting NO bibliography inserted at all!)
Please advise!

"Institution/Organization"-box doesn't open
Dear mendeley team,
I want to type an author as institution. Upon what does it depend, if the "Institution/Organization"-box opens, when I click on it? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't appear until I typed something.
The other problem with the comma in the institution name, does still exist, do it? Is it possible to say, when this problem will be solved?
Thanks a lot,
Martina

Error #159 when inserting citation
Hi,
I just installed the most recent Mendeley Update for Mac. My mendeley Microsoft Word plugin shows me the following error when I try to insert a citation:
"Problem formatting citation #159
Problem updating citation: (Desphande & Farley, 1998)
You can fix this citation by removing and re-inserting it."
I tried to remove and re-insert it but this gives the following formatting error: "{Formatting Citation}n}"
What can I do to fix the problem?
Kind regards,
Sebastian Stabenow

Migrate computers but keep file structure?
Hello, I'm migrating my Mendeley Desktop from Linux to Windows 7. When I first started using Mendeley, I had a strict file structure for thousands of PDFs, some of which are over 50mb and cannot be synced to the online storage, BUT they were easy to find on my computer.
Here's my problem.
I can easily copy my files/folders as they are onto Windows, and then have Mendeley "watch" those folders, but then this happens:
Mendeley begins to import the "new" files - every single one, and of course 80% of the information imported is incorrect as far as titles/authors. I spent hours upon hours making my entries 100% correct on Linux, and that information is online. So this means I would have to spend more time merging the newly imported crappy file information with the correct, original information.
The big issue.
I really, really would like to keep my very complex file structure based on paper topic, not author. Is there ANY way to do this without re-importing EVERYTHING?

Citation style "Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences"
Hi,
it seems that the citation style for the journal "Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological sciences", which is provided to Mendeley by https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles is not up to date. According to the the journals homepage, they expect journal names to be abbreviated in a standard format. However, the Mendeley-style for this journal does not abbreviate the journal names. I am not capable of XML and do not know whether this issue can be solved quickly - maybe it is not even an issue that can be addressed by Mendeley, but should be solved by https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles ?
Does anybody have an suggestion how I could get the up-to-date citation style for "Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological sciences" into Mendeley without programming it myself?
Thanks,
Stefan

Define style of authors first name
Dear mendeley team,
is it possible to define, that only the first letter of the first name of the author is safed, like: Meyer, A. so that mendeley automatically adopt this style for every file? At the moment I change it manually.
I already read your proposals for related questions (e.g. CSL-Editor) - there I saw that the settings are like I want to have it. Is there something else I have to do or is the manually change the only way?
Thanks a lot

Notes disappeared
Hello,
I am relatively new to Mendeley and have found some features to work well, and others to work not so well. One of these is the syncing feature which has caused me a few headaches. I am using Mendeley Desktop 1.9.1 on a iMac and an macbook air. I copied notes into the "notes" tab of a reference in Mendeley once on my macbook air. When I tried to retrieve these, only part of the notes appeared on both my systems (it was the same part on both systems, so it seems like only partial syncing happened). I began rewriting these notes in Desktop on the iMac. I was leaving so I synced both systems (the iMac and the macbook air). The new notes never appeared on the Macbook Air. I shut down Mendeley desktop on the iMac then reopened it only to find the notes I had just copied were gone on that one too...! I had only the notes I had previously (the partial notes). This rather annoying. It seems the syncing feature is not very intuitive and I'm wondering if I will keep using Mendeley...Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening in the future?

How to cite multiple publications in MS word at one-click?
Hello, in some cases I may need to cite multiple publications for one statement in my paper. I found Mendeley did a great job in inserting them individually; I just wonder if it is possible for Mendeley to insert them in one-go, so the references would follow an alphabetical order as the citation style requires. Thank you!

Advance Search
Is there a way to search just for a type of publication, like "Thesis" or "Patent"?
Also is there a way to show more than just "AUthors/Title/yeat/published in/added" on the display??
I have more than 4000 documents and it becomes very difficult to find them even though I have placed the correct details.

Web references are unusable for a dissertation
If the web page has no author I need to make the author the organisation e.g. Life Resources Charitable Trust(2012) ......
Mendeley does not allow me to do this and I end up with Trust, T (2012) How can I get round this? I would also like to add [accessed 12 July 2013] at the end of the reference and still be able to refresh my word document without losing this change.
Thank you
