over 300 of my PDF files formally located in a directory i created were replaced by files that are located in \Mendely Desktop\Downloaded...
these files have completely different names and i do not need them, or want them
any help would be appreciated.

MSWord plugin doe´sn't work on Windows8
Hi.
I updated my Mendeley desktop to 1.9.1 version, uninstalled ans re-installed MSWord plugin, but it still doesn't appear on reference bar.
I use MOffice 2010.

Bibliography not complete
Hello,
I am having several problems with my bibliography. It does not show all the authors, usually only one or two. It also does not show the full name of the journal. for example Behavioral Ecology and … Meaning i have to go through all my references and manually edit them and check whether there are more than two authors and add any additional authors manually. When you have over 80 references it takes forever and defeats the purpose of a citation manager. I was wondering if I am missing anything in the options. I have been reading through the FAQ but cannot find any solution to this problem, other than changing it manually.

MSWord2010 plugin not working
Hi All,
After updating mendeley desktop to version 1.9.1, the MS plugin doe not work!
I get this message: "Microsoft Visual Basic: Error compiling hidden module: MendeleyLib"
I am using a Vista machine with Word 2010.

Weird "Open File" symbol after Mendeley update
After the recent update the "Open File" symbol for one of my papers in my library changed to the vlc player symbol for whatever reason. When I click on it the normal pdf opens, as with all the other papers. The file extension of that particular paper is of course also .pdf. What's wrong here? Not that it's a big issue, but I'd just like to know...

library organizer
Hello. I´ve installed the most recent upload (v. 1.9.1) and the file organizer stopped working. It is not copying new added files to the specified folder nor is it renaming them. I´ve tried activating and desactivating the file organizer and syncing the library repeatedly. Is this a bug from the new version?

Is there a permanent #ID for an article in Mendeley that will facilitate when assigning articles for
Is there a permanent #ID for an article in Mendeley that will facilitate when assigning articles for team of reviewers?
I checked both Desktop and online Mendeley and was not able to find a consistent or permanent #ID (meaning it would not change if we keep adding more articles) for each article.
Mendeley desktop, on the right side “details window” has the DOI, PMID field…however not every article have a DOI or PMID.
I tried exporting to Refworks and importing back to Mendeley to see if a #ID was assigned…but had no luck.
I would like to figure this out within the next 2 days if possible, so I can assign articles #ID to the team and we can get started with screening articles.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Repeated failed sync
After reinstalling my SO, my Mendeley Desktop is unable to sync with my online profile. I keep trying since 3 days. It gets stuck at 19% ("retrieving documents"). Then it gives error and suggest to contact support. This is grave, because I cannot use Mendeley at all now! My library is empty and there is no other way to recover it!

Mendeley loosing link and archiving files
Recently I have noticed that my Mendeley desktop looses links for a lot of files.
It happend a few times for 5 and 10 docs or so so not a problem.
Today it just archived (after trying to sync all to mendeley web) more than half my library (total is 700 docs, 1000 refs).
I then imported by File - Add a folder... and added the archive folder.
Some file links where re-established but about 90 were not. Check for duplicates shows about 50. Some 50 docs as well need review. And the rest? Have to redo?
Also organizing the library has to be done again as it is messed up right now.
Please advise. Did I do something wrong? Can I fix the issue quickly?

Can't get rid of duplicates, keeps crashing whilst searching for duplicates.
This problem has dodged me since May - and I can't say support has been supportive.
I've tried everything to solve the issue. Including reformatting my entire drive and only installing Mendeley!!!!
I've even got rid off all my groups.
I've unchecked all the watch folders and order folders.
Had I not been trapped with a such a big database - compounded by the excessive duplicates seemingly automatically created, I would have long defected to Zotero.
I've gone down the cmd pathway of changing my sqlite to old and etc - several times. And still now I am stuck with this persistent problem of a database bloated by duplicates I cant get rid off.
I've tried the to reduce the duplicates by also Sqlite Manager via Firefox, only to have Mendeley re-download all the original duplicates. I have short of 20,000 records, but it is constantly bloated up to 50,000.
I've tried everything, including resetting several times, installing different Mendeley versions,...
In the meantime, it doesn't look like support cares one bit about how much time and frustration I have endured to try to solve this idiotic problem. My whole holiday has gone into trying to solve this problem. And still the problem persists...
Can somebody please point me to a real solution, unlike what I have / have not received from support?

MSword plugin - Mendeley is already running / unable to start Mendeley automatically
Hi all,
First of all, thank you for the excellent program!!
I have been using Mendeley for some time without any issues.
Recently the word plugin (insert citation) started having issues with the following messages:
Mendeley is already running
(& after a few seconds)
Unable to start Mendeley automatically
I have both MSword 2010 and 2013 installed and the error happens with both.
I read threads on this issue and have tried to reinstall the plugin, going into the STARTUP folder in APPDATA erase it and reinstall the plugin, enabled and disabled macros in Trust Setting options in word.
None of these resolved the problem.
I am running windows 7 professional 64bits and mendeley 1.8.4.

Hi. I have the Mendeledy 1.6v and the LibreOffice 4.0.3.3. I have install the Mendeley in the LibreOffice, but it doesn´t work. All the options for Mendeley appear in the LibreOffice screen but when I click those option they don´t work. How can I solve this problem? thanks!!

Documents without web references
Is it possible to insert a new citation (in any document type, such as article, book, hearing, and so on) without the web research? In other word, I can compyle only the field that interst me and create a new type of citation? An example: if I want to cite a book reference that I don't found in internet database, because I found only book and not a section of this book, I can write the text citation that I'm searching so that I cite it in my MS Word file?
I hope is clear my question; if not, I will try to explain more.

loadlocale.js for German IEEE Bibliography
Dear Mendeley-Support-Team,
I recently asked the following question:
Is there a possiblity to change the language, in which the bibliography is created (from english to german, so that for instance "and" becomes "und", or "p." becomes "S."?
I received feedback really quick and it worked out, but now I installed the new version 1.9.1 and saw that the file "loadlocale.js" was overwritten due to the update. Inserting References with the Word plugin did not work anymore, so I copied the loadlocale-file that I downloaded from the dropbox-link in the support-answer, and replaced the loadlocale (1.9.1)-file. Now inserting references does work, but it takes much longer than before. Could you send me a new loadlocale file, that is in accordance to the new version or advise me what to do?

No listing of folders in the drop-down menu of Word-plugin - A bug?
I am a recent migrant from Endnote. I have successfully completed one of my project with Mendeley and want to stick around with this great software. The feature of Mendeley web search through the desktop program is a welcome addition.
The problem:
While working on one of the project, I wanted to search citations from a specific folder. However, in the drop-down menu in the bottom of the word plugin shows just "My library" and none of the folders. I think the drop-down is supposed to show all the folders present in the program, just like the web plugin, isn't it? I am using Microsoft Office Professional Plus, 2013 32-bit version. Although my work is not stuck, however having to sort out through all the citations in the library is very cumbersome.
I have another question: Correct me if I am wrong, I think that folders in Mendeley are the equivalent of libraries in Endnote. I am organizing citations of different projects by creating a folder for each of the projects. Is there any way to create separate libraries for separate projects?

Please help. Mendely desktop was doing just fine but know it is start to appear this when I click to insert a citation in word.

Badly formatted Linux Icons
Hello Mendeley Team,
I was installing Mendeley on my Fedora 19 64 bit computer and I noticed that the Mendeley icons were badly formatted.
1. The 48x48 and 64x64 icons have a white border at the bottom (and the top corners). This border should not be there, rather, it should be an alpha layer like in the 128x128 icon
2. With higher resolution monitors coming up, could you please plan to provide a 256x256 as well as an SVG icon?
3. (This is more a personal stylistic note). The larger icons, 48x48 and up, are not centered at the middle of icon file. I believe this was to accomodate for the little bit of shading at the bottom of the icon. While this may have been in line with icon styling back in 2005, I think it has now become standard not to include the shading as part of icons and rather to center to the icon in the middle of the png.
Thank you for looking out for the Linux community :D. I hope these things (the first issue really) will be look at soon.

Olá, eu estava utilizando o Mendeley Desktop e estava tudo certo, sem nenhum problema. Mas de repente eu procurei um artigo que eu sabia que estava lá e ele não encontrou, então procurei manualmente e ele realmente não estava lá. Eu tentei colocar esse artigo no Mendeley desktop de novo e ele diz que foi importado com sucesso mas não aparece. O que devo fazer?
