I have recovered my Mendeley system, following loss on an old desktop. I had my PDFs backed up and reloaded them onto my H drive, in directories My documents/Mendeley/Journal/Year/Author-Year-Title. The bib files also appear in the H:Users/Grant/My documents/Mendeley Desktop directory. I reloaded my citations from the Mendeley site (a million thank yous that you had a backup of all my citation data). I have set the correct settings in the Tools/Options/File Organiser page. Now I wish to connect the citations with the PDFs, so the PDF symbol appears and I can view the PDF on the desktop. I have 690 odd PDFs and 17. I do not want to save my PDFs onto the Mendeley site.
Could you please advise how I can reconnect the 690 PDFS with the Mendeley citations. It is not possible to do this as an import, as all the PDFs do not have all the details, such as journal/conf paper name, date, etc on the first/second page.
