PDF Files (which can I delete!)

Hi, hope you can help me out, any advice on the mess I have made is greatly appreciated.... I have a Pro (Advisors) Account and plenty of memory. However, sadly my Dropbox does not and I need to clear some space! I use a watched folder in Dropbox to transfer files into Mendeley Desktop. Today, I learned that I can delete the files from the watch folder, after having used the File organiser. This has helped greatly. Also, I also use Mendeley on a work PC & my Macbook at home. -On my Macbook files are located in Users/Mendeley/Downloaded -On the work PC the files are located in a folder in My Documents. (I found this by right-clicking on a file in Mendeley and selecting Open Containing Folder; is this correct?) I also found that in my Dropbox is a 2Gb folder called 'Annotated Mendeley Folder' with a list of all the files I have ever imported (and quite a few which I have subsequently deleted) I assume this was some kind of back-up folder, or I may have exported with annotations some time ago. There are about 2.5K files in this folder all named by year author etc.. My first question is, in the interest of space saving: -which files can I delete without disturbing the collection of files which I have now reduced to what I need (1.5K files) Finally, I have added a lot of files over the years and a number of them keep appearing, despite being deleted and removed from collection. I assume this may be related to the many folders I have as described above. My second question is slightly related: -How can I permanently delete a file in this instance? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as everytime I turn on Mendeley these old files appear again and I lose a small piece of my sanity.... Ben
