Word plug in - "in text referencing"

Is it in any way possible to alter between two main "in text referencing" styles such as the following: 1) Lions are carnivores that hunt medium to large prey (Smith 2011) 2) According to Smith (2011) lions are carnivores that hunt medium to large prey. I am using African Zoology, a variation of the harvard referencing style. I know it is possible to manually edit the "in text references", but it would be great to be given an option to insert as (Smith 2011) AND Smith (2011). The problem with manually editing the citations is that they don't get updated automatically if I were to change the reference details inside Mendeley Desktop. Please note that I would like to use BOTH the above styles in my microsoft word documents. Thanks
