Since there is no portable version of Mendeley, I thought I could simply use it on many machines by installing it in my dropbox folder. I have all my articles and watched folder in DB as well. However, Mendeley insists on placing its data directory in my Apps folder (I'm using Win8), so the data doesn't get shared over dropbox, which means that when I try to use it on other computers, Mendeley is a tabula rasa and starts downloading my database again, despite the fact that all the articles in it are in the same DB folder. So, is there any way to move the data directory folders from %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mendeley Ltd.\Mendeley Desktop to a folder of my choice, one I could place in Dropbox?
