I have my preferences set to rename pdfs and transfer them to a new folder when I import to mendeley (I drag and drop PDFs from downloads folder to mendeley desktop). This has worked properly for several years, but recently I noticed my papers are no longer transferred from the downloads folder to my library folder or renamed even though my preferences have not been changed. Any ideas????

insert citation failure
I just installed Mendeley (and MS Word plugin) due to major problems with refworks. Sorry to say Mendeley dosen't work either (at the moment I hope).
I have a Mac OS X, Microsoft Word 2008 for Mac.
When I enter a document i Word and want to generate a citation (or bibliography, the same problem emerges) and press the ribbon, everything seems in order. But then, when I press the insert-button, nothing happens what so ever. When I look in my Mendely Desktop, there's no insert in Word-button either.
Please help, I'm half way through my master thesis and could really use a good citation program.

No Open Office plugin

Change spaces in Bibliography

I need to change a citation style and there is one thing I can´t find. I need to change the space between the numbers.
This is the style I have:

This is what I need:
1. References should be placed at the bottom of the page, using Arial 10, leaving 6 pts before and 0 after the paragraphs.
2. The reference should be numbered consecutively in the text.
I could change the space after the numbers but not the space between the bullet points.

can't find my files
I'm using version 1.11 of mendeley desktop. I have a base of more than 7000 records, however from two days ago I can't see the files. It appear that the program can't found the files however it keep the data (I mean, I can see the data but no the files). I've not moved the files.

LibreOffice-problem "please run mendeley desktop before using the plugin"
Hi
I'm using LibreOffice 4.2.2 on a Windows 7 64-bit system.
After installing the plugin with Mendeley Desktop v1.11 and opening LibreOffice Writer, the toolbar with Mendeley function appears(enter citation, merge citation,...). When selecting the enter citation-function in get this pop-up message: "please run mendeley desktop before using the plugin".
I already tried re-installing the plugin.
Anyone else got this problem and has a solution?

Mendeley Desktop 1.10.3 Not updating Library.bib file
I am trying to manually force the library.bib to update as it hasn't done so in several days and the .bib file is missing some recently added citations (automatically added).
I keep receiving an undefined error when I try to Sync (using F5) as well. I do not know if these are related as I'm attempting to only use Mendeley Desktop and not store things on the web...
please let me know what other information I can provide.

Astrophysical Journal reference styles are wrong
The style for The Astrophysical Journal, Letters, and Supplementary series are wrong. Mendeley shows citations as numbers but they should show up as e.g., (Lastname 1995). The description of what they should be can be found here: http://aas.org/authors/manuscript-preparation-aj-apj-author-instructions#references.
Is it possible for someone to fix this, or should I grab the code from github and edit it myself?

Editing citations
I am an academic copy-editor and want to know if I could use Mendeley to format all the citations in a manuscript and its reference list into a style (e.g. APA) when the manuscript has been written with its citations and reference list in another style (e.g. Harvard) or those citations and references are presented inconsistently.

Meta data of books in PDF (scanned or ebook)
I have scanned books and other ebooks that I want to organize in Mendeley. However when I drag and drop PDFs (especially for books) the information is miss read or not read a all. So I have to manually fill all the fields. "Search by Title" helps but not for every PDF. Sometimes I use google books to locate the book and then get its bibtex file, then I drag it to mendeley and then merge duplicates but still some fields are missing like edition and publisher. Is there a way that I just drag a pdf into mendeley and then simply drag another meta data file over it to fill in/overwrite the information related to that Pdf. Please help.

References in Word
I'm writing a Word document where I refer to articles from several journals. For the journal Polymer, all my reference entries in the Word document have the string "(Guildf)" after the name of the journal. I have inspected the details of my references in Mendeley Desktop but I don't see "Guildf" anywhere. The same thing has happened to a colleague of mine as well. Do you have any insight into this?

sq lite file
I am trying to set up Mendeley desktop to sync to my android tablet using Dropbox, drop2sync, and referey. I need to know how to update my sqlite file in the desktop on my computer so I can link this to dropbox. right now, it seems as if every time i click "sync" in the desktop program, a new sqlite file is created but the old one is not updated. thanks

Editing a document with refworks citations using Mendeley
In September 2012 someone asked: I've written a paper with citations entered using RefWorks Write-N-Cite. Now, a couple years later, having switched to Mendeley, I wanted to be able to do major edits and revisions to that paper in MSWord while keeping the original citation info/locations in the body of the paper. My original paper has over 300 citations and I expect to be adding dozens more...is there any way to keep the original citations without having to add them all in anew using Mendeley's plugin?
I have the same problem having just migrated and suspect many others do- is there a solution yet?

Will my library be public at any point?
Your application looks very good on first sight. I already installed Mendley Desktop and added some documents.
Now I'm wondereing where these docs are going to? It seems they were uploaded to the web. Do other people now have access to my docs?
This is just not clear to and I couldn't figure it out so far. I am not allowed to share my document library at this point so this is a critical question for me.

I am not able to put a reference list from a Mendeley folder onto my paper. I have already installed the plugin and all my refs are in the folder but how do I put that list on my paper??

Web importer never worked
I am using Firefox 27.0.1. on a Macbook and just installed Mendeley Desktop and the web-importer. It never worked. It loads for a while and when it finished the small pop-up window just displayes the Mendeley Web site with an error message, that the site could not be loaded. What can I do?
