Problems with Mendeley Word Plug-In
Hello!
I am currently using Microsoft Word for Mac 2011. When I attempt to insert certain citations into a word document with the Word plug-in, nothing happens. I type in the desired citation into the dialogue box, press ok, and nothing happens. It is only a few of my citations, not all of them. Is anyone else having this issue and if so how/were they able to resolve it?

All pdf files links lost after cleaning \AppData\Local folder
I am using Mendeley Desktop on Win 7. It is a good citation management software. And by using the File Organizer function, I put all the downloaded journal articles into a local folder and have them sorted.
But after I cleaned the \Users\AppData\Local folder, it seems Mendenley has lost all the pdf connections. There is probably little hope to restore it automatically.
So I suggest Mendeley perhaps could back up this pdf association automatically, or may be consider move it to another 'permanent' folder, or requires Administration Level Access to modify these important files.

Downloaded folder dissappeared
When I move all the downloaded pdf form literature search to all documents in my Mendeley Desktop, these files disappeared from my downloaded folder in "Data Directory". So where is actually all my pdf files in all document are stored !
Please help me.

Mendeley not connected to document after review
I have a document in word 2010 in which I have used Mendeley 1.11. After review with co-authors I get my document back, but Mendeley is now no longer linked to the document and starts all over with referencing, which means I cannot update references in the document.
What I can do about this if I dont want to create the references anew every time the documents has been reviewed?

Inline citations: Harvard style with page numbers
Hi
I have the same problem as this user below.I have followed the steps but my page numbers do not appear in in line citations.
Please assist asap.

I am writing my thesis so I want to keep words to a minimum where possible. I am using the Harvard style, and currently when I cite a reference it formats as (Bloggs, 2001, p.4). If however it would show as (Bloggs, 2001:4) this reduces the word count from 3 to 2.
Please can you let me know if there is a way of selecting this way of referencing page numbers? I would be very grateful

Way to see how much of Personal Web Space is used by each synced collection
I am running short on web space and I have a feeling I have a bunch of relatively large files scattered in various collections that I need not sync. Is there a way to see which collections, alternatively files, take up most space in the cloud account?

Short to long page number format
Pubmed IS (PMID) synchronizing automatically inputs page numbers in short format version in the Desktop app. Hence, when editing styles online, the "long" format of page number doesn't register. Please fix, this issue comes from your side!

Short Page Numbers
Hi,
I've recently started using Mendeley and it's been great so far for me.
I have one small issue though. I've been trying to change the way page numbers display at the end of journal article citations in the bibliography. Instead of "20-5" I want them to appear "20-25" but it seems that whether I change the "form" under the page variable to "short" or "long", there's no difference in Microsoft Word (2007, Windows 7). The pages don't seem to change unless I change them in the citation manager directly but I do not want to have to do this for all my citations and go through them one by one.
Is there an easier way to change this?

Unfortunately the plugin in Word will take its information from Mendeley Desktop, so if the information is incorrect in Mendeley Desktop, this will be reflected in your citations in Word. You would need to correct your citations in Mendeley Desktop for them to be correctly updated in Word. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Unable to rename /Applications/Mendeley Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/webContent/external/THIRD_PARTY_JS to /Applications/Mendeley Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/webContent/external/THIRD_PARTY_JS.bak details: Permission denied
How do i provide the correct permission(s) to update Mendeley? Previous updates worked fine.

Over writing URL entries when searching by DOI or PMID - Bug?
If I have a catalog entry that has does not have a URL entry but does have a DOI and PMID entry, and I click the search on the blank DOI entry, it will add the URL for that entry. However, if I then click on the search on the PMID, it will find that and over write the URL obtained by the DOI entry (The reverse is also true). If I want both URL entries, then I have to once again click on the search for the original one to get them both to survive.
The second click should not over write the URL obtained by the first click.

synchronize subfolders
Hi! Could someone help me?
I changed my notebook and I'm facing problems with Mendeley Desktop.
I can see all my subfolders correctly in MD, as I used to see in my old notebook. I checked Organize My Files and set a folder that exists in my notebook. Inside this folder, using windows explorer, I created all the subfolders as they exist in MD. Then I request MD to synchronize the files. I hope my files would be transfered to the correponding subfolder, but it's not working. All my files are transfered to main folder.
Is there any way MD synchronize the files inside subfolders correctly?

Harvard Referencing
I am losing marks not being able to reference in Harvard. I can see only APA, Chicago, MLA, Turabian in the Citation style listing in Word on the Mac I am using. How do I bring in Harvard as my default style from the long list. Do not assume that I can see Tools and Plug-ins on the tool bar. Mac is a pain in the neck with these things. And I have viewed all the tutorials available on Mendeley. Might have to find another referencing method if Mendeley can not help.

BUG: Sorting isn't applied when going from a folder to all documents
Hello,
When you are in "All Documents" and have them sorted by year ascending, then go to a folder and then back to "All Documents", it seems that the sorting isn't applied.
Lets say you have 4 documents from: 1981, 1996, 1997, 2002. When you sort them in "All Documents", they appear in the correct order. Going into a folder, they still appear in the correct order. When you go back to "All Documents", all the documents are ordered in random order, like: 2002, 1996, 1981, 1997.

reporting for yearly reports
I'm looking for a platform that make sit possible to make reports of publications of my faculty. The reports are, e.g. yearly for the annual report of my university, for the accreditation of my research programs etc. In fact one time input should make it possible to have many formatted outputs.
Can you deliver? I don't see that in your digital " flyer"

Feature to lookup book citation details given title and author?
I refer to books as well as PDF papers. PDF papers can import the metadata given basic title information.
Is there a feature to fill in the citation information for a book? If not would this not be possible to incorporate, searching on various tags such as ISBN, Title, Author etc. Even if one had to select from a list this would make getting quick and accurate information on books so much better.

Export from RIS is not correct
Hello,
If you are going to export any ris file with SE key, it will be added to the name as it is in the file. For example take any paper from springer. You will have the title like "Title title tile SE - 10" which is wrong.

Why mendeley decides to take data for the paper when using bib not from bib?
I have the following bib file and I try to add this file to the library where there is the same paper but with wrong information. The result is the copy of the paper with wrong information but without any file attached.

Mendeley cannot export bib files from springer
Typical bib from springer looks like below. We can see that they do not write the reference name, which is in any case useless to export in a library. But mendeley cannot work with this bib and exports an empty paper.
