Compile error in Word, Menedeley 1.10.2
Hi,
Instead I contantly get an error message "Compile error in hidden module: MendeleyLib". For a screenshot, see here: http://imgur.com/KObHZIj
This particular screenshot was provoked by inserting two citations and then selecting one of them.
I have the latest Word 2010 version.

Mendeley Add-in for MS Word crashes after new update
Today, I updated my Mendeley Desktop to version 1.10.2. However, the Mendeley Add-in in MS Word began crashing - every time I add a new citation to the text, I get the following error:
(Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications) Compile error in hidden module: MendeleyLib
I am running MS Word 2010, version 14.0.7106.5003, and Mendeley Desktop ver. 1.10.2.
Each crash, the "Insert Citation" icon dissapears in the Mendeley Cite-o-matic, and the newly added citation is always written as [Formatting Citation]. After I hit refresh in the Cite-o-matic, everything seems to work again, but the errors are EXTREMELY annoying and disruptive. Also, if I click on an existing citation after an extended period of time, I also get this error.
Can you please help me address this problem? Thanks.
Robert

Installing and using the Word plugin in Windows was unsuccessful
Hi
I just activated in the toolbar "Tools" "Install MS Word Plug-in" (and now "Uninstall MS Word Plug-in" is shown, so I guess this was successful. Unfortuately, neither in Mendeley desktop (view toolbar / references etc.) nor in the Word programme (Add-in does not appear, even if I activated it under "File" / "Options") there is any link to Mendeley. Regarding Web Mendeley, I could drag the "Save to Mendeley" buttom into the page, but it does not seem to work (and the buttom is not read, but just clear.
Do you have any idea what could be the problem? My computer is new and was just installed, maybe a missing programme or the settings of the security programme (McAfee)?
Thank you and kind regards
Anja

I cannot install the Mendeley Pulgin in Word
Please help me to install the Mendeley Plugin. I have installed it in ma computer. And I have installed the Mendeley Plugin in Word, but it did not install properly. The problem is that when I click on "Insert citation", a pup-out window appears and says "The component ActiveX could not create the object (429) in Mendeley Plugin". What should I do?

Importing records from Web of Science
I'm looking for any way of importing records from Web of Science into Mendeley. WoS has stopped providing RIS and BibTex export, as far as I can tell, and seems not to provide the metadata necessary for the Save to Mendeley button to work. Their plain text format, which is all that WoS now seems to provide, does not import into Mendeley. The only solution I can find is to import into webEndnote from WoS then export to RIS from there.
This is more a WoS issue than a Mendeley one, I guess, but other users might have found a solution?

Adding custom fields?
Hi there. I just found your application, and it is an absolute lifesaver. I have over 3000 pdf articles, book sections, etc. on my computer that I turn to for research, and for the first time I stand a chance of being able find what I'm looking for quickly and easily, and cite it even more easily. Of course, first I have to load them all in, and as most are OCR'd, the extraction of title/author/volume type info is less than ideal. I wondered if you're interested in any feedback on articles that failed to extract title and author info correctly.
Also, a question. Does Mendeley have the ability to add custom fields? For example, many of the articles I have are in foreign languages, and I'd like an additional field specifically to hold the english translation of the title. Most of the articles deal with historic subjects, and I would like to have a beginning and ending date for material that the article deals with, so that I can filter and search for, say, articles dealing with 1550-1600.
Thanks,
Drea

Unrecoverable crash on start-up with version 1.10.x
Unrecoverable crash on start-up with version 1.10.x
I am not able to update beyond version 1.9.2
(I have tried 1.10, 1.10.1, and 1.10.2), because
the newer versions always crash immediately upon startup,
with a message like:
Using system Qt version 4.8.4 in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'Option[RemoteEnums::RemoteResourceType]::NoValueException'
what(): attempt to access value of unset option
Crash handler wrote minidump /home/arnold/.local/share/data/Mendeley Ltd./Mendeley Desktop/minidumps/21787eff-da60-3f96-4f379c44-742a590c.dmp
Everything works fine with version 1.9.2.
I am running Ubuntu Linux 13.10 on amd64.

Bibliography order
Hi,
I plan to author my first chapters of a thesis in the end. How would one change the order of the bibliography? i.e, I may want to add biblio before current entries and hope that the references change accordingly
Thanks.

superscripts and subscripts
Dear Mendeley team,
Is it possible to use a chosen citation style in a way that there's a superscript number in the text and the reference at the bottom of the page (I believe it is called subscript in English)? I hope I expressed myself clearly.
Best regards,
BP

Mendeley for Windows 8.1
Thanks for your product; I've been with you for almost 5 years.
I just got a new computer, and it has Windows 8.1. I downloaded Mendeley, but the labels for the folders on the left aren't working; everything else seems ok so far. It seems like a compatibility issue?
Best,

Cannot open files on Mendeley desktop version..
Hello,
I'm new to this program, so I'm assuming this is an easy fix, just not one I'm aware of. I have the web importer installed, and have successfully imported one document that I'm able to view. The other three I cannot open, no matter how often I try. The document I've successfully opened has an Adobe Acrobat symbol next to it, where the other three have nothing. Have the files not been uploaded properly, or is there an extra step that needs to be taken?
Thanks for the help

IEEE citation style still not working
Thanks for a great product.
I have problem with the IEEE style. Citations show up as [1]-[3] instead of [1-3]. Also, they show up as [1],[5],[7] instead of [1,5,7].
Does anyone have fix for this? I have been fiddling with the citation editor a while without success. I am running 1.10.1. The version of the IEEE style I use is from 13-12-17, by Michael Berkowitz.
It seems from the threads below that this problem has been coming and going. I created a new post to boost attention.

Addition 'p' added to page label using word add on
I have adapted a citation style using csl for my university, available here:
https://gist.github.com/ivyleavedtoadflax/071049a3311cf864a5d2
I'm having a problem when using the word add-on to create a bibliography. An additional 'p.' is being added before the p/pp, e.g.:
Upson, M.A. & Burgess, P.J. (2013). Soil organic carbon and root distribution in a temperate arable agroforestry system. Plant and Soil. 373 (1-2). p.pp.43–58. Available from: http://link.springer.com/10.1007/s11104-013-1733-x. (Accessed: 26 November 2013).
This additional 'p.' is still present even if I remove the macro which codes for the label tag:
label variable="page" form="short" suffix=" "/
I cannot seem to find a way round this, and the visual csl editor does not show the addition 'p.', it only appears in word. I do not believe this to be a csl problem, but something to do with the implementation of the style by Mendeley into word...any help would be greatly appreciated.
