I cannot access internet using mendeley. When open mendeley desktop I receive the information: Unable to connect to Mendeley -

The "use system connection settngs" is unchecked.

batch export of selected pdfs
Hi!
I love mendeley but not all my colleagues are adept to use cloud-based methodologies and like to have citations emailed to them.
For these people, i would like to know how to export pdfs associated to the selected entries in my MD library into a new windows explorer folder, or zip file so that i can email them or send them locally to a colleague in my organisation.
can you show me how to do this? at the moment the only way would seem to be to "open enclosing folder" individually and copy each individual file into the new folder one by one.
help please?

notes & annotations not syncing between ipad app and desktop
Hi,
I have notes and annotations that I have entered on my ipad and are available on the mendeley app on my ipad, but they do not sync with my desktop. This is true for all the pdfs I have annotated and written notes for. Any tips for how I can resolve this?

PDF not recognised once uploaded
Some of the PDFs files I have uploaded from Mendeley desktop are NOT recognised as such by Mendeley web. So, for instance, for some papers, when I click on the PDF icon from Mendeley Web, instead of getting the red "PDF" string with the link, I get the generic "file" red string. As a very annoying result, I cannot download the proper PDF anymore, and also Mendeley on iPad and iPhone are NOT able to synch the PDF files.
This seems to happen when the title of the article contains some special character, like apostrophes or quotes. Changing proper titles of papers to make this work seems not a good solution...

Editing references in Mendeley
Hi there.
I'm an editor and I'm working on a Word document that has 103 references listed at the end, which were inserted and managed using Mendeley. Unfortunately, many of the references don't follow the "house style," and there are also some duplicate references. Is there a tutorial that would show me (as the editor) how to re-format individual references and delete duplicate references using Mendeley?

Many PDFs not importing
I have a large number of PDFs on my laptop - a Macbook Pro running Mavericks. Most of the files import fine. But a large number simply won't import into Mendeley. When I try to import them, Mendeley tells me that they were imported succesfully (i.e. it says 400 files imported succesfully), but when I look for them in Mendeley they're not there. The PDF files are sitting in my Mendeley library folder on my hard drive. And when I run a "tidy up" Mendeley finds them and identifies them as files that aren't being used by mendeley. I have tried importing them in batch and one at a time and nothing works. Any ideas?

Mendeley Suggest giving me suggestions even without any documents in library
I had a comprehensive library of papers (over a thousand), but kept getting Mendeley Suggestions focused entirely on radiology. This was probably due to an old project that involved another thousand references, but I deleted all of those papers and moved on with my life.
To troubleshoot, I deleted every paper from my Mendeley Library (see screenshots, these are Dropbox links):

I then synced to my empty library. The sync in progress in the screenshot is me downloading some papers from a group, but it should not give me radiology suggestions.
Sadly, even after the culling, Mendeley Suggest is still fixated on radiology papers!

Missing library items, missing documents and corrupt names
I'm somewhat new to Mendeley (and love it - wish I used it earlier). I took a week over December to build my library from PDFs on my PC and I also checked the option to organize my files into the default folder. The files are all copied into that folder still it seems but Mendeley desktop seems to have become corrupted. There are missing items in the library, some items have lost reference information and some have lost the link to the document. I have not moved any files but my computer has crashed recently. Any ideas on how to recover? I see I can restore any of 3 backups that must have been generated automatically. All say there are 346 documents but the warning in the restore makes me nervous.

can't filter by My Tags
I am organizing literature within a public group (6 members). I am using a combination of folders and tags, but sometimes the option to "Filter by My Tags" is greyed out (as are the list of tags). I haven't been able to figure out what causes this, or what causes them to be available again.
Is there something I'm missing?

Mendeley with Chicago Footnotes
Hello,
I am new to Mendeley, and hope to use it for my Politics dissertation. However, I am having trouble getting the appropriate citation style to work for me. I am using the Chicago Manual of Style's Full Note with Bibliography format. However, I am finding that Mendeley does not properly format the footnotes in Word. I am using a Mac and Word 2008, with the latest version of Mendeley Desktop. When I insert a footnote, I get the html code inserted along with it, for example, instead of italicizing the title of a journal article, it inserts the bracketed "i" at the beginning an the bracketed "/i" at the end. This html code appears in the reference and that makes the style unusable. While I would consider editing the references manually as I go, the problem would be if I decide to switch my reference style later on (for word count purposes) and if that manual editing would make that transition difficult.
Further, there is not way to specify specific page numbers or a range of pages when you insert a citation via Mendeley.
These two issues now have me considering purchasing a referencing software rather than continuing with Mendeley. I see that this is a known problem, and that this issue has come up before in 2012. I am wondering if now, a few years on, they have been solved, or if this continues to be an outstanding issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
