Assume I import 100 PDFs to my Library. All of them go to "All Documents" section. Now I try to categorize them by creating new folders. I do it for 50 PDFs and for some reason I decide to do the rest later.
After a while I open Mendeley to categorize the rest, so I go to all documents. My problem starts!! I don't know which one is categorized before. I mean I cannot recognize the 50 PDFs which you already categorized in "All Document" section because none of them have labels.
How can I resolve this issue ?

Sychronizing Mendeley desktop with the Web account
Hi,
If I syncronize my mendeley desktop to my web account, that means all the pdfs will be in my web account. Dooes it also mean that all my syncronized data can be seen by any one?

Mendeley Desktop have different dataset than Mendeley Web
I have created a private group and one of the members is able see the group on the web but not in mendeley desktop. Also this member have a general problem with synchronising Mendeley Desktop and Mendeley Web dataset. She can see her articles and group memberships on Mendeley Web interface, but on Mendeley Desktop there is no data at all. Any idea why?

Necesito acceder a los ficheros donde se guardan las anotaciones que hago a cada fichero para poder usarlas en base de datos y calculo de estadísticas (dichas notas debo de introducirlas con una forma concreta para esta labor, pero ésta es otra cuestión que no me trae mayor dificultad).
Por lo tanto, mi pregunta es dónde puedo localizar dichos ficheros para usar mis propias anotaciones.

I need to access the files where the annotations I make to each file are saved to use in database and calculation of statistics (such notes should I introduce a specific form for this work, but this is another issue that does not bring me more difficulty).

[Bug] Folders changing their parents automatically
When I select a folder "A" and after select a folder "B", "A" gets inside "B", even if I didn't dragged "A".
I checked extensively across many input devices and in other computers with same setup and it seens that the frequency is much higher when "Pen Input" is available, such as when a Wacom device is used. I didn't tested with touch input, tought.

Capitalization when generating references for manuscript
When I generate a reference list to attach with a manuscript, the first letters of the journal title are not capitalized. For example, Glass T, ... Annual review of public health. 2013; 34: 61- 75. The journal requests capital letters as: Annual Review of Public Health. I can correct this in the "Details' tab as I import the paper, but this is time-consuming. Is there a way to correct this within the program?

New citation style
I find it quite difficult to modify a citation style. The requested style was almost similar to the one used by The Lancet. I downloaded the Lancet style, changed its name to MyNewStyle and stored it in the citationstyle subdirectory in the Mendeley directory. I then modified it. It was simple : instead of 3 authors followed by et al, the journal requested 6 authors and et al. Found and done in a few seconds thanks to the Citation Visual Editor that appeared very intuitive and simple to use. But then, I could not have my new style in the citation box in microsoft Word 2003 I use. Is it necessary to go through the styles stored on the CSL site ? Is it not sufficient to put the new style in the subdirectory ? Can you help me ?

Using hyperlinks to associate saved pdf to Mendeley references?
I'd like to link pdf publications which I have saved on my local server to my Mendeley desktop. I'd like to be able to search for a reference and use this link to open the local version of the pdf. Is this possible?

Adding page numbers to citations with reference numbers
I'm using the PLOS One citation style, which has [number] rather than [author, year] for the inline citation format. I frequently add page numbers to the citations, by simply typing them in and saying yes to "Keep citation edit?"
This works fine for [author, year] styles. But it fails for [number] styles because the number never updates after the edit. When the correct number changes due to adding another reference, old references like [4, p 120] are not updates correctly, such as to [5, p 120].
What do you suggest?

Sync
I have my mendeley desktop on my laptop and my office computer. How do I sync between them? I tried the Sync button on the desktop, but even though it showed as if the work is complete, it didn't uploaded the very last documents from the other library. What do I do?

A solution to the error of adding a sort node to bibliography
I had the same problem as some other people reported:
When I wanted to add sort node to bibliography, it was not possible anymore to save it as a new style. Error: Invalid Style
What was the problem? I tried many things:
1) I tried other explorers than chrome, such as Firefox and InternetExplorer. It did not work at all.
2) I tried it some other days to see whether it is a temporary error. The same error was again appeared.
3) When I removed that sort node, and made other changes to that style, I was of course able to save it as a new style. It seems that the problem was only adding a sort node to bibliography.
4) At last, I tried the other suggested solution in one of Mendeley support webpages;

It was recommended to just drag the sort node and drop it above the layout node. It was the real solution. There was no need to save the xml code in a new csl file, and adding it manually to the Mendeley at all.
It worked really and I was able to save the edited style as new one.
Please tell this to all Mendeley users, because I waste several hours of my time getting rid of this fatal error in the such very exciting reference managing software (Mendeley). We hope that mendeley writers would solve the problem forever in the new versions of the software.

How to Relink (re-link) citations in word
Hi, I am using the mendeley plugin for word. Usually it works great, but I have a document in a shared google drive folder that a friend made comments on on his computer, and now all the references are still there, but they are no longer linked up to mendeley. How can i tell word or mendley to try to reconnect this citations?

More duplicates in 2014
Entering 2014 and duplicates keep been generated and still Mendeley does not know what to do with them. We still need to mark them as duplicate one by one; still no possibility to select a bunch of them and mark them as duplicates, etc. Issue still languishing and no solution in view. Note the ambiguity: Mendeley can detect a duplicate, put a score on it and does not known what to do 2 references are absolutely identical! Hard to believe...
My assumption is that the Mendeley team does not want to solve the issue because it compete with Mendeley cloud. Let's put is this way. Do you really believe that we - the people using pdf files that cost a fortune and on which our long term scientific experience is based on - are going to trust a company that is small, may be bought at any time, can change the user agreement without notice or simply disappear at any time with our pdf at the same time!
So, come down to Earth and bring an end to the automatic duplication of duplicates.

Bug - Ubuntu
Hello, I am using Mendeley 1.10.1 (Ubuntu 13.10)
When I try to insert a citation in a odt document, I get the next error message:
Problem formatting citation #0
Unable to render citations due to a bug in the installed version of QtWebKit
Afterwards, I used the next command to force open Mendeley:
mendeleydesktop --force-bundled-qt
Now, I can insert citations, but the references do NOT appear at the end of the document.
Any ideas how can I solve this?

Download PDF automatically

I'm wondering if there is an option to download pdf files automatically once I added the reference to my library.
I've read somewhere you mentioned it's possible if you have the access to databases for free. Since I'm using Minedely in my university, I have permission to download with many online databases (without login, only from my IP address). So is there any option in Mendeley that find the pdf, download and associate it with related reference automatically or by pressing a few buttons instead of going to google scholar, search for the article and downloading it manually?
My next question is related to Mendeley Literature search. Is it possible to integrate this online search option with google scholar since the search results in this option is quite far away from the one I'm looking for and the one that I usually find in google scholar ?
