My dissertation was created in Word. Before I learned to do the linked citations, I manually entered the in-text citations. Now I'm going through the document and linking to Mendeley using the tool (which I love) so I'll be able to generate the bibliography using your software.
Question: is there a way to see which citations are linked without using the "Edit Citation" command?
Thank you so much!

Use of Visual CSL editor with Mac Mendeley Desktop (V 1.12)
Hi,
I'm trying to edit the J Med Chem citation style using the visual CSL editor (want to change the paper title so only the first letter of the title is capitalized). I have managed to change this in the CSL editor online but when I save the style Mendeley desktop brings up the error "Cannot install - undefined. Error: Make sure the that the address starts with http:// or https://". I am using CSL editor in Safari and I have the latest Mac Mendeley desktop version (v1.12). I noticed in a lot of the CSL editor blog posts that V 1.7 was needed but this is the latest PC version PC right? Is there a change I need to make to assure connection between Mendeley desktop and the visual CSL editor?
Thanks
Ed

Display Scaling
Windows 8.1: - on high DPI displays, the Mendeley Desktop does not display correctly, despite the Windows setting.
In particular, the dialog boxes don't scale it all, making it impossible to read them.
If viewing the library as a table, the "Year" column chops off the right hand two digits - making this column useless.
How do we get the display to scale correctly?

Preserving Folder Structure
My PDFs are currently organized into one "Readings" folder which is synced on my Dropbox account, with a single layer of folders below that for topics (e.g., "Innovation", "China", "Expertise", etc). I'm hoping to manage my PDFs in a way that (a) preserves this folder structure on my machine and (b) helps make documents highly searchable in Mendeley because of it.
A workaround is to have Mendeley watch the "Readings" folder, but not organize files. This at least preserves my topic-based organization. But, this doesn't help with part (b).
To do part (b), I could imagine several possible solutions. Mendeley could automatically apply the folder name as a tag to the file. Or, Mendeley could automatically place the file into a corresponding group or folder. Or, I could create a parallel file structure on Mendeley, and assign each Mendeley folder to watch a particular folder on my machine.
Are any of these possibilities? I've seen posts to similar questions back to at least 2012 on the Mendeley support boards - has /any/ progress been made? While (a) is functional, I can't really use Mendeley (especially not collaborating by sharing folders of particular topics) until there's a way of doing (b)...
Thanks for your help!
Eric

Cannot edit sync settings in Puppy Linux Slacko
Hi,
I'm using Mendeley Desktop on Puppy Linux (Slacko 5.7). I installed MD 1.12 from official deb package (You can install deb binaries on Puppy). I can use it without any problem. However, I cannot change sync settings as I did it on Ubuntu, for example. I can see the settings page, but cannot modify the settings. Save&sync button is greyed.
Interestingly, present settings are stucked to the ones that I did on Ubuntu. Now, when I change these settings on Ubuntu, my Puppy version also changes; which means, I guess, they are online.
Is there any way to modify these settings other than Mendeley Desktop program's button? Can I modify them changing the system files of Mendeley Desktop, for example?

I have MS Word (MS Word 2007) document that needs updating. The references are no longer associated with Mendeley. They are still there and still a field, but adding a new reference in the document starts over at 1 and the bibliography no longer updates when refreshing.

File organizer
When the following is done:
Tools - Options- File Organizer
Organize my files Copy files to (a specific location)
Is there a way that mendeley organizes my files in the same order as that in mendeley desktop. That is respecting the Folder and subfolder hierachy.
Thanks,
