Mine doesn't show the "reference"
I searched a lot about building a reference list by loading a PDF into Mendeley Desktop. It is shown that there should be an infobar titiled by "reference" in the right subpanel when Mendeley Desktop uploaded with a PDF paper. However, mine still doesn't show the reference, even I have tried many versions. So I am wondering why mine doesn't work.

Why can't Mendeley download the pdf file?
Our lab recently purchased a group share of Mendeley which costs a lot of money. Unfortunately, as a papers2 user, I am very disappointed in Mendeley's lack of functions. One of the most annoying thing is the lack of pdf download support of mendeley. In papers2, I can search and downloads pdf files directly within the program or using the web plugin, I can open the pdf link and papers will automatically download the pdf file.
With Mendeley, I can only import the citation but then I need to download the pdf file separately and import it again.
Mendeley also lacks the functionality to recognise the DOI information and tries to match metadata using Google Scholar which most of the time returns incomplete or wrong information.
I don't understand how am I supposed to use Mendeley if it cannot import the pdf and if it cannot retrieve proper metadata? At the moment, users have to do these manually.

Changing bibliography into german
Hello,
I´m writung my bachelor-thesis at the moment in german and would need my bibliography to be in german,too. I already fund a solution here. Its just dont work for me. I replace the text in the loadlocale.js with the offered soultion here (http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/132646-use-mendeley-for-writing-a-non-english-paper-) and I recieve this error:

Changing Reference Style
I am writing a proposal in which I need to cite references using superscripts (i.e., "Nature" format). However, my references need to be listed in APA format. I am unable to change the references to APA using the MS word plug-in. Please advise.

Including Website URL in bibliography using Elsevier (numeric with titles) style
Hi--
I have referenced several websites, but their URLs do not show up in the bibliography. The entries have type "Web page" in Mendeley and the URLs are included in the "URL" field. It does not matter which option I select in the "Include URLs and Date Accessed in Bibliographies" dropdown.
This is with "Elsevier (numeric with titles)" style. I took a crack at adding this to a new Elsevier citation using the visual editor as recommended to the author of a similar post (http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/1291194-including-website-urls-in-bibliography), but when I tried to save the changes under a new name I got an unspecified error message. I have no experience with such programming so I probably made a mistake.
Any way someone at Mendeley could create a new "Elsevier (numeric with titles)" citation style that includes the URL and Date Accessed in the bibliography for those references labeled "websites"? If so, please let me know what you are calling it!

Inline citations use S. instead of the p
Im using Mendeley 1.11.
My Thesis is in German. So I have to use in the inline citation the S for "Seite" and not the p vor "page". Basis would be APA6 with the change from p to S.
In previous FAQ if been searching arround.
So csl editor seems to be the solution.
In mendeley destop i installed csl datat exporter from the link https://raw.github.com/wiki/citation-style-editor/csl-editor/cslExporter.csl
Where in the SCL can I change the p into a S.

Word plugin does not work
Dear admin
I dont know why suddenly i can not find the mendeley plugin in my microsoft word.
I have uninstalled and installed the Plugin several times. Still in my Word reference ribbon I can't cite from my Mendeley library.
I am using Word 2007 on a microsoft desktop.
any suggestion for it?

Drive with Mendeley Desktop failed. "Organized files" library is fine. Can I restore old library?
I installed Mendeley Desktop on Drive C:, and my Organized Files on drive D:.
Drive C: failed and messed up its RAID setup (I couldn't restore/salvage the old Windows Image.) So, I replaced C: with a new set of RAID drives and a new version of Windows.
I reinstalled Mendeley Desktop on the new C: and set its File Organization option pointing to the previous path on D: (which still has my several thousand paper library in Journal and Author directories; as well as a folder containing an up-to-date Bibliography file for each of my old groups.) It is in a folder in the same path in D:.
BTW, D: had RAID 10, so I thought back then I had no need to back it up; I do now.
Anyway, I still have the RAID mirror of the old C: with all its data (but no bootable image.) Is there a way I can copy and move data around so I can restore my library with all my old groups and keywords etc.? I'm a PhD candidate in Computer Science; so, I am comfortable getting deep into Mendeley's old a file structure to retrieve files.

APA formatting for dissertation/thesis citations
I am trying to include a couple of unpublished PhD and Master's theses/dissertations in a paper I am writing but I can't figure out how to get Mendeley to cite it properly. Any suggestions?
I am trying to get it to look like this:
Lastname, F. N. (Year). Title of dissertation (Unpublished doctoral dissertation). Name of Institution, Location.

I am trying to import my papers2 library but many pdf files end up missing even though the file locations is referred to in rid file. here is an example;

How do you edit authors's names so that in-text citations are correct when you insert them
I have a number of references where the in-text citation (APA style) comes out with the author's first name, with the first initial of the last author at the front, and so on. There seems to be no guidance on what format Mendeley wants so that the references can be fixed. Not only that, but the "last initial first situation" can't even be edited so that it shows up properly in the Mendeley Details window.

Problem formatting citation #53
Hi!
When I try to input a knew citation on a document it says it has a Problem formatting citation #53, and that I should eliminate it and reinsert it, but it doesn't work. It algo keeps giving me the option of eliminating the citations that I already had in my document.

MS Word Plugin does not work
I have MS word 2007 in windows 8. I have tried all the options to fiz the problem:
- Reinstalled mendeley as well as the plugin
- looked for mendeley in the add-onlist in MS word (it is not there)
- restarted the computer
is there any other thing to do?
