I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Mendeley Desktop with no change.
Windows 8.1, 64 bit.
The folder names (upper-left panel in Mendeley Desktop) are invisible on my system. I have posted a screenshot to http://www.ozydingo.com/Mendeley.png
Please let me know if there is any further info I can provide to debug this problem.
(Possibly related: Mendeley also doesn't appear to play well with hi-res screens as while some of the text sizes are adjusted according to system settings, the buttons (and the login controls on setup) remain cripplingly tiny.)
