Citation-style which is useful for document conversion to Latex

Hi, I am trying to merge a WORD/Writer Manuscript into a Latex-Template. All in the course of my cumulative PhD. In the Manuscript I used the Mendeley LibreOffice Plugin. It would be very convenient if I could create a citation style that includes all in-line citations in a way that Latex/Bibtex could understand it when provided with the mendeley .bib-file. For example like this: "As described in \citet{citation_key} we base our analysis on ....". However, I am failing to figure out how to create such a style using CSL Editor, because the citation key seems not possible to be selected as output. Any ideas here?
