I am running version Mendeley 1.3.1 on an HP Mini netbook with HP Mobile Internet (equivalent to Ubuntu 8.04) installed. After downloading and installing Mendeley 1.9.1, the program would not start. I received the following error message(s):
Unable to use Qt libraries in /usr/lib. Some components are missing:
/usr/lib/libQtXmlPatterns.so.4.3.4
/usr/lib/libQtWebKit.so.4
To run Mendeley Desktop you may need to install the QtWebKit and QtSvg packages provided by your Linux distribution.
/usr/bin/../../opt/mendeleydesktop/bin/mendeleydesktop: error while loading shared libraries: libpulse-mainloop-glib.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Attempting to install libqtwebkit4_2.2.1-5_i386.deb produces the error
dpkg: regarding libqtwebkit4_2.2.1-5_i386.deb containing libqtwebkit4, pre-dependency problem:

multiarch-support is not installed.
Is there a way to upgrade to version 1.9.1 without making extensive changes to my machine?
