Hello, I'm migrating my Mendeley Desktop from Linux to Windows 7. When I first started using Mendeley, I had a strict file structure for thousands of PDFs, some of which are over 50mb and cannot be synced to the online storage, BUT they were easy to find on my computer.
Here's my problem.
I can easily copy my files/folders as they are onto Windows, and then have Mendeley "watch" those folders, but then this happens:
Mendeley begins to import the "new" files - every single one, and of course 80% of the information imported is incorrect as far as titles/authors. I spent hours upon hours making my entries 100% correct on Linux, and that information is online. So this means I would have to spend more time merging the newly imported crappy file information with the correct, original information.
The big issue.
I really, really would like to keep my very complex file structure based on paper topic, not author. Is there ANY way to do this without re-importing EVERYTHING?
