Some PDF files are not searchable

I got a similar problem as this user posted months ago. I just found at least one PDF whose content simply couldn't searched. I already tried to remove and add back the PDF file in Mendeley, but still the PDF is not searchable. Could it be due to some reason Mendeley failed to extract the content of this PDF? It's a paper from 2012 Science journal and had been annotated by iAnnotator in iOS and Adobe Acrobat in Windows. However I have many other PDFs that are similarly annotated and they are perfectly searchable. The most important feature of Mendeley for me is to be able to search the full contents of ALL my PDF files and I really would like to have this problem solve. This is Mendeley Desktop v1.11, Windows 7 64bit. Thanks a lot! Search is unreliable. I have many pdfs whose text is not searched. Some can be fixed by removing and re-adding the pdf file. But I just did this to a pdf and still can't get that pdf included in search results. I'm having to manually go through ALL my pdfs and test each one to see if it's included, and if not remove and re-add it. What a pain. Could this be a corrupted search keywords database problem? This is Mendeley Desktop 1.10.1. Thanks.
