Same problem here with the endless completion of tasks. Right now I've cancelled, resulting in it perpetually saying it's cancelling, having completed 5410 of 5415 tasks. Meanwhile the computer is slowing to a crawl. I've read it may have to do with the sorting feature, which is one of the main reasons I have this program, but it seems to be more a problem than a feature at this rate. Is there no way to implement it without driving Mendeley into a sisyphean task list? I'm using version 1.11 on Mac OS 10.9.3.
And every time I start this, it retrieves documents, sends document changes, and downloads files etc. for about eternity, during which time everything else on my computer is slowed. When it is finally done, I still can't rest easy-- it'll only be a matter of time before it stalls again. Case in point, restarting this time worked, but when I told Mendeley to watch a certain folder for new PDFs, it has again frozen, this time completing just 1 of 318 tasks.
