Not Connecting

Im trying to use Mendeley Desktop in my Windows 7 and it just doens't connect! I've seen this problem here in the forum, tried the solutions proposed and none of them work. Also my machine is a dual boot one and it works just fine in Linux, but I would like to use it in windows as well. The error message is "connection timed out" and when i test my connection i nthe configurations i get this: Platform: Windows-6.1 Proxy Type: NoProxy Proxy Server: Proxy Port: 0 Proxy User: Proxy Has Password: false verify depth 0 verify mode 3 Connecting to www.mendeley.com (secure: 0, backend: Qt) - Timed out verify depth 0 verify mode 3 Connecting to www.mendeley.com (secure: 1, backend: Qt) - Timed out No SSL config Connecting to www.mendeley.com (secure: 0, backend: Platform) - Timed out No SSL config Connecting to www.mendeley.com (secure: 1, backend: Platform) - Timed out verify depth 0 verify mode 3 Connecting to s3.amazonaws.com (secure: 0, backend: Qt) - Timed out verify depth 0 verify mode 3 Connecting to s3.amazonaws.com (secure: 1, backend: Qt) - Timed out No SSL config Connecting to s3.amazonaws.com (secure: 0, backend: Platform) - Timed out No SSL config Connecting to s3.amazonaws.com (secure: 1, backend: Platform) - Timed out is there a solution to this problem? thanks!
