People have been clamoring for the ability to change which columns appear in table view for literally years. As of 2014 there is at least a "debug" option that you can turn on to allow it (Ctrl+Shift+D, Settings tab, Feature_DocumentsViewHeaderMenu=True, restart Mendeley). I found it somewhere on the support board, with serious warnings about how CRAZY things might happen if you use it. The warnings are true, crazy things do happen.
My question: how, in 2014, is something like changing columns considered a bleeding-edge feature that only advanced users should dare attempt?? How did you ever get the program written in the first place? Did somebody quit? Did you hire the boss' son to replace him, or something? Seriously, this is basic programming. Please, send the kid to college and hire a real programmer.
I see people have also been asking for the "read/unread" flag to not be automatically set to "read" by viewing the PDF -- since 2009.
You seem to be a serious company, so what gives guys? I don't get it.
