Repeated failed sync

After reinstalling my SO, my Mendeley Desktop is unable to sync with my online profile. I keep trying since 3 days. It gets stuck at 19% ("retrieving documents"). Then it gives error and suggest to contact support. This is grave, because I cannot use Mendeley at all now! My library is empty and there is no other way to recover it!
