Hello,
The issue I am having involves the in-text citation not displaying correctly for two authors with the same last name, wrote multiple articles together, and published multiple articles in the same year. Here are the references:
Fish, Paul R., and Suzanne K. Fish
2007a Community, Territory, and Polity. In The Hohokam Millennium, pp. 39–47. School for Advanced Research Press, Santa Fe.
Fish, Suzanne K., and Paul R. Fish
2000a Civic-Territorial Organization and the Roots of Hohokam Complexity. In The Hohokam Village Revisited, edited by David E. Doyel, Suzanne K. Fish, and Paul R. Fish, pp. 373–390. Southwestern and Rocky Mountain Division of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Fort Collins.
Fish, Suzanne K., and Paul R. Fish
2000b The Institutional Contexts of Hohokam Complexity and Inequality. In Alternative Leadership Strategies in the Prehistoric Southwest, edited by Barbara J. Mills, pp. 154–167. University of Arizona Press, Tucson.
Fish, Suzanne K., and Paul R. Fish
2007b The Hohokam Millennium. In The Hohokam Millennium, edited by Suzanne K. Fish and Paul R. Fish, pp. 1–11. School for Advanced Research Press, Santa Fe.
For the two articles with Suzanne Fish as the first author published in 2000, Mendeley correctly adds an a and b to the in-text citation (Fish and Fish 2000a; Fish and Fish 2000b), but does not add the first initial to each name as the style guide I am using requires. The main issue arises with the two 2007 references. Instead of displaying (P. Fish and S. Fish 2007; S. Fish and P. Fish 2007), Mendeley inserts (Fish and Fish 2007a; Fish and Fish 2007b). I attempted to resolve the issue through the Visual CSL Editor, but I could not find way to do this under the author-short macro or anywhere else.
The citation style I am using is American Antiquity.
Thank you,
Chris
