I uploaded a large RIS database (45,000 refs) into Mendeley, since there was no listed upper limit on database size. When I checked for duplicates, it crashed, and now whenever I start up the desktop, it informs me that it is repairing and retrieving documents. When it reaches about 85 MB received, it crashes again, and again, and again. I'm sending crash reports each time - but this is not encouraging. I signed up for the Max Space option, because I assumed I would be able to handle a large and increasing database. I am running Windows 7 on a Dell T7500 Workstation with 3518 MB RAM.
From reading the posts, it seems that Mendeley has difficulties with large numbers of references, as one poster mentioned crashing when 27,000 refs were uploaded, and all had to be deleted.
Mendeley just crashed again, when it reached 84.7 MB received.
