et al

I'm having difficulty getting et al to behave correctly. I'm using my own edited version of Harvard Imperial College and want to change the visual editor so that: Inline citation has all authors name for first time cited and any list of authors of 3 or more then becomes First Author PLUS et al for all subsequent citations. It appears to work in the visual editor but is then not transferring over to my word essay. Exactly how should I have the settings for et al min, et al use first, et al subsequent min and et al subsequent use first? Hopefully Yours Judith
