I had about 100 articles in a folder called Articles on my work PC that I set as a watch folder in Mendeley Desktop (MD). All told, from other computers I use, my database has about 430 articles. This morning I found my Articles folder EMPTY. Panicking, I thought, maybe I should check MD. When it fired up, it started downloading. Ok, wish I'd known it would vacuum all my articles out of my PC and then bring them back down from the cloud (right?). The articles end up not in my Articles folder, but in MD's Downloaded folder, and, it Downloaded all 430+ articles in my database, not the 100 or so I had locally before. But even weirder is that the status bar indicates it is "importing" files, and the number of files keeps going up, into THOUSANDS. I don't have thousands of articles. The app's Downloaded folder actually shows correctly the 430+ files I "own". What is it the status bar talking about?
