Error installing Mendeley MS Word Plugin

This is on OSX 10.8.3 (Swedish), Microsoft Word 2011 12.3.4 and Mendeley Desktop 1.8.4. When trying to install the MS Word plugin the installer throws an error: Unable to install the Microsoft Word Plugin Error 1 compiling the Word plugins. Executed: osacompile -o /Users/marcus/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Word Script Menu Items/Mendeley/Show Mendeley Toolbar.scpt -c MNDL -d -t osas . I located the Show Mendeley Toolbar.AppleScript in the Mendeley pkg and tried opening it with Apple Script Editor. That caused another error message (translated from Swedish): "Open dictionary. Could not load dictionary for an application or plugin because it is not script adapted." (I might be way off on some of that translation). Manually opening the dictionary for Microsoft Word from within Apple Script Editor works well though. Trying to compile the "Show Mendeley Toolbar.AppleScript" file throws a compilation error that seems to be related to the failure to open the dictionary, the "command bar" part is not recognized. When starting Word after the installation I get another error message: "Compile error in hidden module: Mendeley". Trying to use the Mendeley toolbar in Word does absolutely nothing. Any suggestions? I have tried a complete uninstall/install/upgrade cycle of Microsoft Office with reboots and disk repair/repair permissions between each step. Still the same result with Mendeley.
