I have a huge library of PDFs I am trying to bring into Mendeley. Over the years, I have painstakingly named every PDF file with the right information. Now, when I bring the files into Mendeley, it goes through the automatic detail extraction process and tried to "guess" the right information. It usually gets it wrong, and always ignores the file title. I am looking for a way to manipulate this that would not require me to manually rename every single document in the library from the file names. Is there a way to tell Mendeley to take the title from the filename? Is there a way to edit the Mendeley titles in batch? Is there something I can do with the metadata before importing the files that would make Mendeley be smarter about guessing the right titles?
