Hi,
Mendeley claims to export Endnote XML for Endnote 8+. However, the ref-type numbers you export correspond to the old (Endnote 7) XML format.
For example you export "Journal Article" as ref-type 0, you export "Book" as 1, but it should be 6. You can find a mostly complete list of the 7 vs. 8+ ref-types here: https://drupal.org/comment/1147601#comment-1147601 in post 3 and 4.
(You can also just try this out with Endnote).
