Merging documents

Dear Sirs: I have classified my database using folders in a hierarchical way. Pdfs were included in one or another folder depending on the main topic. Bus as the database was getting more and more complex (now it has around 3000 citations)the number of duplicates has also been increasing. One solution would be merging documents, and keeping just one copy of the pdf, and resorting to tags. But the problem is that when I use the option Check for Duplicates, Mendeley tells me that there are two.three copies of a paper, andthat I can merge them, but it does nor say me in which folder are they located. Taking into account that around 1500 pdfs are in the "unsorted" folder, I might find myself "merging" the files in the "unsorted" folder instead of the proper folder, or being not able to choose which is the best folder to keep the file, and then tag it to keep the link to the other subject. So, is there a way to know, when using the "Check for Duplicates" option, which is the original folder of each of the duplicates. Thanks so much. Pau Perez-Sales. Mendeley Advisor.
