I have successfully and happily used mendeley in the past on another linux machine, but I'm not having any luck with my present configuration:
OS: linux mint 16 (petra) 64-bits
Libre office version: 4.1.3.2
Mendeley version: problem on both 1.10 and 1.8
Basically, mendeley installs fine, and so does the Libre Office plugin, but then, in spite of seeing all the relevant buttons from within Libre office Writer, i can't get any of them to work. So no 'insert citation', no 'insert bibliography', etc.
I installed the latest version of Mendeley yesterday, then after reading a few posts on the internet i tried removing it completely and installing version 1.8 instead (both installs done from .deb file)... the problem persists and is exactly the same with both versions of Mendeley.
Any clue? I'd hate to have to switch, since I had a happy memory of Mendeley and it has served me well in the past!
