Because I rename the folder that contains all documents, mendeley can not find the files. So it start downloading PDF from online, then problem shows up. Even for each entry only one document is linked, there are duplicates downloaded. Among those duplicates the only difference I see is modified time. I assume it means at least Mendeley keep all of them online that I don't want.
A maybe related problem is sometimes when mendeley sync it import some documents again and they are all duplicates. First I thought I store duplicates locally, but now they all fit the online duplicates.
I read the suggested answers find how to avoid it happens again,but still don't know how to delete the online duplicates.
