Dear Mendeley Support team,
I am sorry that my question has already come up in your fora a couple of times, albeit with different versions of Mac OS and Word. But, as you might guess, I don't get the Word Plugin to work..
I am working with
Mac OS X 10.8.5
and the Word version
Word:mac2011 14.3.8
I was able to install both Mendeley Desktop for Mac OS X (September 2013 distribution) and the Word plugin yesterday (01/07/14), but the plugin does not seem to function correctly.
Word let me open the plugin, generated the toolbar, and I was even able to insert one single citation into my document, before Word crashed on me. After closing and reopening Word, Mendeley and the Mendely Word plugin toolbar, I was not longer able to use the "insert or edit citation" button. When clicking on that button in the plugin/toolbar menu, nothing happened any longer. However, I am still sometimes able to insert a citation when using the Apple Script menu shortcuts, but this crashes my Word now and again, and every insertion now automatically generates a bibliography in the middle of my document, without me having asked it to do that. So for every additional insertion, I get the bibliography inserted once more but one element longer, and the bibliography appears all over the place.
Could you please let me know whether this is a known bug and/or a problem related to my versions of the OS and/or Word version, and how I can solve this issue? I think Mendeley is a really great tool, and I would love to use it with Word for my multi-author papers (otherwise Mendeley convinced me with its BibTeX exports for LaTeX).
Thank you very much for your assistance and
best regards,
Meike
